Last weekend, I attended a workshop with angel authority Doreen Virtue, and during the day she happened to read Neil Douglas-Flotz’s translation of The Lord’s Prayer, which I’d never heard before, and which is felt by some to hew closer to the original Aramaic that Jesus spoke.
Allahah. O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos, you create all that moves in light, Focus your light within us—make it useful as the rays of a beacon show the way. Create your reign of unity now—through our firey hearts and willing hands.
Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms. Grant what we need each day in bread and insight. Loose the cords of mistakes binding us, as we release the strands we hold of others’ guilt. Don’t let surface things delude us. But free us from what holds us back. From you is born all ruling will, the power and the life to do, the song that beautifies all, from age to age it renews.
Beautiful, isn’t it? I’ll tell you about the actual workshop tomorrow. I’m still coming down to earth from it, frankly. All the wing-flapping in my home office keeps messing up my notes.

Thanks for sharing that wonderful version of the Lord’s Prayer! I hope you don’t mind me sharing it with some others and sending them back over to your blog. Hugs and blessings, Alicia ps. This version is very welcoming and really embraces your soul and renews a person.>

Before I left my metaphysical church, they distributed this supposedly Aramaic translation of the Lord’s Prayer: O Thou Breathing Life of All, Creator of the shimmering sound that touches us, Allaha Allaha Elohim Elat (Aramaic, Arabic, Hebrew and Old Canaanite words for God), Clear the space inside of us so Your name comes to life. Create Your reign of unity now. Let Your will/desire be, as in the universe, so also on earth. Grant us what we need each day in bread and insight. Loose the cords of mistakes binding us, as we release the strands we hold of others’ guilt. Free us from forgetfulness of origins and from what holds us back from our true purpose. From You is born all ruling will, the life and power to do all, from age to age. AMEN.>

I am open to many things and appreciate insights of wisdom from other religions but there is only one version of the Lord’s prayer. It is in God’s word, the holy scriptures. It was translated from the Greek, Aramaic and Latin. I studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and never heard anything like this. There is a warning in the book of Revelation, the last book in the New Testament that anyone who adds or detracts from it will suffer great consequences. I also resent anyone calling God, Mother. He is our Heavenly Father. I very much that as I never knew my father. To change it to please some women who have a problem with men is ridiculous and sacreligious.>

Is there a way for readers to filter out posters on this blog? Like on internet message boards you can filter out a screen name if you want. I don’t see that option on HaloScan.>

Again,i thought i would learn something on the internet, about the Lord’s prayer. But as it is today,we can’t all buy that much on the market to learn,or put together in our own minds. I know peple are out to make money, but just wasted my time on these links. And they say Christmas is commercialized!>
