Don’t rush out to get married after midnight in Las Vegas, Nevada anymore. Law changes this week force those dying to tie the knot to wait until the morning to get hitched. It’s sort of like a gun law, I guess. And not a bad idea.

She says only four percent of all Vegas marriage licenses were issued in the middle of the night anyway: “And you can still get yours from 8:30 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.”

Hi Amy and Laurie Sue: While the new Vegas law prohibiting weddings in the middle of the night could prevent the disaster of some impulsive lovers, it certainly limits the options of a better wedding chart for others. Astrologers go crazy trying to find the perfect moment and the perfect chart for a long-lasting happy and healthy union. I myself am guilty of recommending at 2 or 3 AM wedding to a client or two. I think the new law is as misguided as last week’s I.A.U. ruling on small but mighty Pluto, who (as the ruler of mysterious and resourceful Scorpio) is busy plotting his revenge and comeback!>

For my friend CC, news of this law will forevermore be referred to as “Black Monday”. CC was married in in Vegas, in the wee hours, at least three times. (maybe more; I met her during her fifth marriage). When we talked about this, she said many things that left me crying and laughing, the most memorable of which was “…this really makes me rethink everything.” BTW, she’s the best friend a person could ever have – honest, loyal, forgiving; she’s just not very good at picking men (by her own admission).
