Wherever he is, I hope Harland Sanders is proud of his restaurant chain for promising to make the expensive switch to a non-hydrogenated frying oil for its famous chicken this week. Kentucky Fried Chicken's corporate leaders yielded to consumer pressure and truly did the right thing, though kudos are also due to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), which filed a lawsuit against the fast food giant last summer, alleging its fried products endangered public health. "What are McDonald’s and Burger King waiting for now?" asked CSPI executive director Michael F. Jacobson. "If KFC, which deep-fries almost everything, can get the artificial trans fat out of its frying oil, anyone can. Colonel Sanders deserves a bucket full of praise."

are you INSANE ? ? ? have you seen how KFC, killing future chickens, have gone about their process of killing these chickens? if you had, you would never honor this company with your choice to eat there again; contact LCA, PETA, or any established animal rights organization to find out the truth in their horrific slaughtering techniques, and i am not even a vegetarian but i do know what is right and what is wrong and completely unacceptable to me as a human being. KFC disgusts me.
If raising chickens free-range were as profitable as confinement, it would be done that way. Is there a "humane" way to slaughter a chicken?
They get great press about this, when the only real reason for it is, to quote the Today Show "the lawyers are circling" however the media continually ignores the torture of the chickens that they purchase to fry in their "trans fat free" oils. I wouldn't eat there before and I still won't. I encourage everyone I know to do the same.
Now they need to get rid of the MSG (Monosodium Glutamate),which many people have severe allergic reactions to and also, like aspartame, causes memory loss and other adverse reactions. They, also, need to treat their poultry in a humane condition. If one does his/her research, their caged birds not only provide severe conditions for the poultry, but less healthful food for consumption, for those who eat poultry. Birds, due to lack of space and stress (as a result) wind up injuring each other. The very least we can do is to treat our poultry more humanely by allowing them the space to grow...outside of cages.
well.. I thought of a way to maybe improve the lives of the chickens. maybe they put TV's all over the warehouse that have video clips of chickens outside in the warm sun, just having a grand time. it would be like amovie day for the chickens
