Mentioned in a Newsweek article on new techniques in heart resuscitation, is the near-death experience research of Dr. Jeffrey Long. Here is Long's website where you can read one or more of the 1,000 near-death stories he's collected, share your own if you've had one, and fill out Long's near-death research questionnaire. To see hand-drawn pictures and paintings of other people's NDEs, go to this Newsweek page , and click on the "Crossing Over" gallery.

Another source of information about near-death experiences (NDEs) is the website of the International Association for Near-Death Studies at www.iands.org. In particular, you might want to check under the Research tab for published papers outlining new findings from the most current research, particularly the two written by Dr. Peter Fenwick and Dr. Pim Van Lommel.
During the past 30 years, near-death experiences have been the focus of many scientific studies at universities and medical centers around the world. Many medical professionals who have seriously studied the research – and it is extensive – no longer dismiss this phenomenon as hallucinations or caused by physiological or pharmacological factors.

I believe that we all have the ability to change the course of our life even at time of death. I believe this is what these people experience. God gives us a chance to either leave this life or decide that you want to stick around for awhile longer: thus, miraculous healings and survival occur.
