We've been to a lot of cities so far, and it's funny how many people in these cities claim that they are: - The buckle of the Bible belt - The least churched city in America - The city with...
Will you pick me up some good BBQ sauce while you are in the South. Keep on rolling dudes, you will all change the world!

New York is undergoing a renaissance of slow-cooked meats.
If you are serious about this, we will adjourn to Hill Country after the show, a few blocks' walk from the church.
Hill Country, like almost everyone else in this city, is transplanted from somewhere else. But it's durn tasty.
BTW, New York is lots of things, but it ain't none of those first three.
Looking forward to your swing through the Apple.

Now that sounds like an idea, but not one I would trust three midwesterners to. (Does Mark call it "Tri tip" now that he's displaced to the left coast?)
BBQ is all about the sauce - Tomato based with a little sweetness and a nice kick to it. Not generally done well outside of Texas (what we folks call "the buckle of the bible belt.")
:)
If you reschedule Austin, may I suggest going hungry for most of the day and gorging yourselves at County Line an hour or two before show time?
(David- D'ya think that a BBQ place in NYC called "Hill Country" might be a little Austin influenced?)

Hope you can reschedule the C B Roadshow through Austin/Central Texas for a lot of reasons. One is the world-class BBQ tour through Taylor, Elgin, Bastrop, Lockhart, and Luling (among others close by). You may need to take a mini-sabbatical rest stop. Maybe all the cohorts in the area (Austin, San Antonio, Houston) can "meat" in the middle, deep in the heart of Texas and share emergent table conversations. Burnt Carni-Locavores Unite!

Was in Pasadena, CA for last years Rose Bowl game and was directed to Robin's Wood Fire BBQ in Pasadena. Could smell the smoke while turning into their lot. Sublime Baby Back Ribs, Rib Tips & huge meaty Beef Ribs were amongst the best I've ever had. What was really a suprize though were 2 sides served. The Wild Maine Blueberry cornbread was incredible, unlike any cornbread I've ever had. It had a crumble top that was sweet and buttery and was a perfect change from the norm. The Blue Cheese Pecan cole slaw also was unique in that it was crunchy, tart yet absolutely delicious. Best BBQ outside of Central Texas and Kansas City by far.
