A Christianity Worth Believing Videos

You may know that the Church Basement Roadshow is built around the content of books written by Tony, Mark and me.
If you did not know that you certainly will after attending one of the revivals. We each do material from our books for about 60 minutes of the show. So, the entire show is not just us as the revivalists but us as ourselves.

I am posting here one of the videos of the content of my book that I use in the show. There are other videos from my book at my site. Take a look at the videos if you would like to know a bit more about my book - A Christianity Worth Believing.

First leg final show Tonight

We are heading to Bend, Oregon for the 12th show of this first leg. The tour has gone great. But exhausting.
Last night in Seattle, we had the privilege of hosting our friend from the Emergent Jewish Rabbi network (we will have a video in a day or so). We hooked in with these folks a year and a half ago, Tony wrote about it here.
It was great to have them at the show.

We are all feeling the drain of the pace we are on, but also know that being away from the show for two weeks will take some getting used to.

We start the second leg July 11 with a show at Solomon's Porch.

Tonight after the show in Bend Tony and I will start the 26 hour drive to Minneapolis. We are wanting to make it home by morning on Thursday. I am going with Shelley and Michon for Michon's orientation at University of Wisconsin Eu Claire on Thursday.

Mark and Dave will drive a rental car from Bend back to Seattle where Dave lives. Mark will fly home to San Francisco.

Fresno Show Recap

For Info and Tour Dates

Show update from Fresno, California

After a lovely day off (our only one of this leg of the tour) we rolled into Fresno, California to University Presbyterian church. The people were friendly, helpful and encouraging. This is a really great church. Chris Erdman, who is a great guy, is the pastor, but as in all churches the quality of the community comes from the people. We certainly met the cream of the crop during our stay. Chet, a man about 65 years old made us a most tasty dinner of organic greens, chicken and scrumptious heirloom tomatoes.

The show went really well. The crowd, our largest yet at 163, was enthusiastic.
We had our first technical problem at the start of the show and Preacher Withee stepped up and started the show with no sound support.

People are truly enjoying the show - we hear regularly that people are surprised at both how much they enjoy it and how much meaning they find the message of the show

The show is running a solid 95 minutes at this point. We are working to get it to 90 minutes on the button. Part of the show includes an invitation for people to sponsor a child through the group Compassion International. We have a goal of 150 child sponsorships over the course of the tour. We currently have seen 32. If you are planning to come to the show start thinking now about the possibility of becoming a sponsor.

Life in the RV is good (despite our lesson on the range of a ΒΌ tank). We have traveled 1084 miles at the time of this writing. We are only marginally getting on each others nerves. To this point in the trip there have been five of us in the RV -Tony, Mark, Dave (who is our prime driving, sound tech and video editor) and Michael (owner of the RV and all around terrific helper and decal applicator) and me. To this point we have spent most of the time debriefing the show, re-working parts, writing blog posts and editing pictures and video. Hopefully that will lessen a bit as we go.

We have utilized host homes each night in addition to some sleeping in the RV which has really helped.

We are few hours from Sacramento - so let's keep rollin'.
