City of Brass

in the name of Allah, most beneficient, most merciful

let’s begin.

I am grateful to Beliefnet for this opportunity to host my blog, City of Brass, under their umbrella and I am looking forward to this partnership. I hope to use this platform not only for my nattering punditry, but also to do what I can to foster growth within the Islamic blogsphere (aka the Islamsphere) as a whole, because that is the truest voice of the muslim mainstream, a voice that I think muslims and non-muslims alike need to hear.

What better way to begin than a little humor?

Three mullahs are sitting on a porch in the blazing sun. An exotic beauty wafts by, ankles and eyes peeking out alluringly from beneath folds of diaphonous cloth. The first mullah says, “Subhanallah!”. The second mullah says, “Astaghfirullah!”. The third mullah says, “Inshallah!”
