"I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear..."
On Inauguration Day, President Obama will take the oath of office using his full name. Q: Do you anticipate being sworn in as Barack Obama or Barack Hussein Obama?Obama: I think the tradition is that they use all three names,...
Well, it is his name. I mean, if his name happened to be Barack Bigbird Obama he'd have to say that too, right? I don't see the big deal.
I find it funny that so many American's have an issue with a president who has a Mid-Eastern middle name, when the majority of those people are Christian, which is a Mid-Eastern religion. (Despite that many of them like to forget that fact.)
I am not sure but the last inaugrations has seen the middle names used in repeatng the oath. One that sticks out is William Jefferson Clinton. So Barrack Hussein Obama or what ever sounds good to me.
Why is everybody "harping" on this man's name? It's very annoying. I'm trying to figure out the reasoning behind pointing out that his name says Hussein. I served in the United States Army with someone with the last name Hussein and he was by far no threat to us. People need to find something else worth talking about. Let's talk about world hunger, domestic violence, child abuse, and unemployment.
well, if all the documents of Obama contain all his three names, then why delete the other or if he feels that he should use even the one he never used before, let him do that for full recognition around the world and moreso, in respect of the African inheritance of names, its sooo important. so i encourage him to use all the names he has. thanx
By the way, what is so important about ruling a ountry,is it the name or the ability that someone has to head the country, am confused.why is everyone concern about Obama's middle name, will it have any impact on the American citizens or world. people should stop thinking about the names, better think of tomorrow. OK.
well, some blind people might read and misunderstand the name "Hussein" to be "insane"that is not the case that name is perfectly spelt and it has no strings attached. just organise yo appetites to enjoy the man's developments, live the name issue aside.
thanx..asante..alakara..apwoyo..webalenyo..iyalama
I don't think it will make anything "big" , Moslem people may not claim that Hussein is Moslem word it may be universal word specially in Arabic country , in my country Indonesia we have many non Moslem use this word as a name of a person , So for mr.Barack Husein Obama ,don't take any care about this isssue the most important thing you have to proof thatyou can give a good things for USA and the rest of the world specially to recover American worst face/reputation in front of the people in this planet which have been put by Mr.Bush in the last 8 yrs worst.Tq
Islamophobes are simply bigots. No more no less. Of course they will all come crawling out of the dirt and try and fail again to discredit Bsrack Hussein Obama as he is sworn in to this amazing presidency. What else is new? So, what do those of us do who, despising the ignorant rhetoric of these creeps become disgusted and wring our hands at their slime? What we always do--Fight them with our ideas. Someday maybe we will have a society that is truly all inclusive and free from bigotry. Until that time we know we have a long road ahead before we finally create a society of true democracy.
