Gaza: Basic Facts and Better Coverage

posted by G. Willow Wilson | 1:16pm Thursday January 8, 2009

As I discussed in an earlier post, free media and unbiased media are not the same thing. Current coverage of the situation in Gaza by American press is a perfect example of this discrepancy. But an op-ed by Professor Rashid Khalidi in the New York Times yesterday provided a refreshingly frank look at the crisis. If you’re sketchy on the roots of this conflict, it’s a good place to start. Read here.

If you’d like more in-depth coverage, try watching Al Jazeera English on Live Station. It’s free to download and the image quality is excellent. AJE boasts some wonderful British and American journalists, including Sir David Frost. You’ll find it an educational alternative to media outlets like CNN, in which hard news and opinion are becoming so entangled that it is difficult to tell them apart.

When most Americans hear ‘Al Jazeera’, they think of terrorists. Watch and form your own opinion. You might be surprised.

Oh, we need to Unite. Don’t you think if Palestinians were together, they would be the killing object of the Zionists? I have been trying to let others know of their sufferings, but you know what? No one cares, because westerners see them and all Muslim people as apart and disunited people. Now the propaganda of Sunni and Shea and most outrageous one Arab Muslim and other Muslims, which one is better and which one is worst… all by Zionists and their collaborators, just to see us fight each other.
There are only a few Million Jews and more than I.5 Billion of us, and look at us. Helplessly watching our own Muslim people die even as you read this. The Zionists own even the National Public Radios in US and I am sure all over the world…their brain washing machines are working over time. I think every thing happens for a reason, and we should take these genocides in Palestine very seriously. We must unite. Our cause is right. Our religion is perfect. We must show people exactly who we are, not what we want from others… we should be an example of unity, prosperity and dignity. Please spread the word, and do something about it. It is not TOO late.

How can we unite when we are the worst killers of Muslims? Yes, us. You and me. Us. Well over 100,000 in Algeria. In the Palestinian civil war two years ago, how many Fatah were killed by Hamas. Some were even thrown off buildings to their deaths in front of their families! Now, what do you think their children want to do to those killers? Do you think that these Fatah Muslims are seeking revenge? I know so. Who do you think is giving the specific targeting information to the Zionists to direct their smart bombs? We again are killing each other. Look at what light-skinned Arab Muslims in the north of the Sudan are doing in Darfur to dark-skinned African Muslims? Does any of this resonate with you dummies? If WE can kill ourselves — if we promote death — then they have a right to kill us. Don’t you see? They are taking Muslims at their word. Nasrallah says that they love life and we love death. In that case, then we are on a self-fulfilling mission! Stop the killing. Dial down the intense hatred. We have no right to kill any of Allah’s children. Even Jews. I thought of something I would like you bloggers to answer: If the Zionists are so bad, whey do they take Palestinians into their hospitals and try to heal their wounds? We make war on them and they respond. We would kill their wounded you KNOW that we would. Why do they not kill us when we are injured? Makes no sense… unless what our imams and media and leaders are saying to us are lies. What other reason can their be? We learned that they are sons of monkeys and pigs… but they are kind to us. We try to kill them… but they are kind to us. What is wrong with this picture? Maybe they are not as bad as we are being told. What do you think? When we stop all killing for any reason — event the Danish cartoons episode (whereby an innocent Catholic nun was murdered) — then we begin to deserve the attention of civilized humanity. Until then, we are animals and deserve being slaughtered. Extreme, perhaps. But, isn’t that what some people call our warriors?

According to my own exploration, millions of persons in the world get the personal loans at various banks. Hence, there’s a good possibility to find a financial loan in every country.
