(really, the last minute is the important part)
Now, I’m tempted to mock this mercilessly as I did with the Dawah Doll, but there are plenty of humorless jafis out there who tend to take me literally (for example, not realizing at whom I was laughing at in this post about Islam Day in Hawai’i). I’ll leave the sober analysis and rebuttal to people with more patience for tiresome foolishness, like Matt Stroud at True Slant:
I vehemently dislike the idea that anyone should be denied the right to film or otherwise record an interview – especially during a public event (as it seems Dearborn’s Arab Festival intends to be). And while it does, in fact, seem unfair that these people were turned away from the supposedly public Arab Festival because they supposedly wanted to assault question-seeking Muslims with answer-seeking Christian queries, Wood and Qureshi come to odd conclusions: First, that their video rejection means “Islam [will take] over the United States,” but also that this kind of repressive response to video documentation is somehow limited to Muslims. I don’t fully understand what their first conclusion intends to imply, really, but, in response to the latter, I wonder if Wood and Qureshi have ever been to a US political gathering of any type. I’ll point out the “Don’t Taze Me, Bro” fiasco as just one of many non-Muslim examples of well-documented oppression. And if they’d like more, perhaps they should look into President George W. Bush’s “Free Speech Zones.”
I’ll just leave the video up above and let the viewer draw their own conclusions. This is clearly more of a free speech issue than a religious one, aside from the religious agenda of the video makers, that is.

I support Muslims right to exist with others in this country. If Muslims want to win friends this is not the way to do it. This was very poorly handled by all the security people and booth members involved. If they had faith in their own beliefs they would have just answered the questions. Now they look like fools to anyone who sees the video. People who are prejudiced now have fuel for their fire. People who were in the middle are now saying maybe there is more to this than they thought. Maybe the Muslims are trying to destroy this country and the Christian faith. Psople who fully supported Muslim activities such as myself are just disgusted with this kind of behavior by muslim z’klansmen’ and that means all klans including KKK.
In addition these Muslim gentleman have now made themselve targets for every nut in this country who happens to see this video. There is a name of a murder in New Orleans that is very apropriate for these guys…b’stupid So really when push comes to shove the organizers of this festival owe these alleged Christians an apology and open press conference. And I am personally not a Christian!

Gosh … “sober analysis” … “for tiresome foolishness”, you said it all.
These people were just a group trying to make trouble for nothing. When they clearly saw, they don’t want camera, what was the point of rubbing it in their faces. Where’s their personal choice? They don’t want to be video taped, Just Stop it, you silly!
Is this Christian way of having a dialogue, Start with something that the other party is not agreeing to? They seem more interested in video taping than asking the question.
Am sure if they could have simply went up to them asked their question and then asked permission to video tape their answer, they wouldn’t have had any problem. And in case they do, why would you go against their will, trying to force your right of free speech and free video taping? P.S. The woman lied that she is video taping for personal purpose. Why did she put it up on Youtube, if it was only for personal purpose?
The last sentence at the end was another statement to ignite others, not a way to have dalogue. The whole taped incident just showed how insecure these people were about the spread of Islam and all they tried to do through this video was an attempt to paint Islam bad. But in reality, they only exposed their own insecurity and immaturity.

This whole video taping drama got nothing to do with Islam or Christianity. If they don’t want to be video taped, what’s the biggy? What was more important to those Christian viceo tapers? Wanting to know the answer or video taping? esp. when they could see the other side is not wanting to be taped.
