Rabbi Harold Kushner once said, “I think of life as a good book.” Share your love of reading by starting your own book group on Beliefnet, or giving your existing book club an online space to connect between your meetings. Whether you want to discuss the latest Joel Osteen book or your favorite spiritual novel, the new Beliefnet community will offer dozens of ways for you or your group to use the site. Here are a few ways Book Clubs can take advantage of the new tools.

Create a Profile:
If you haven’t already done so, create a member profile on Beliefnet. Once you have a profile, you can connect to other Beliefnet members, read blogs, post in discussions, and enjoy full benefits of membership.

Fill in Your Interests
List books and authors you like on the “interests” or “favorites” sections of your profile. By searching for those names and titles, you’ll be able to find other Beliefnet members who share your literary tastes.

Create a Group
Give your book club an official online home by creating a group profile for it. Here you can post more information about the book or series of books you want to discuss. This can also be the central gathering place for book club members.
Discuss and Share
Using our discussion tools and the group journal, you and your club members can talk as much as you want about the book you’re reading. You can post comments and reply to each other, or you can choose to respond to the book in your personal blog or journal.

Use Multimedia
Has the book’s author given a talk or reading? You can post audio or video on your book club page.

Add a Feed
If you want to expand your cultural knowledge, check out our Entertainment feeds. You can get quotes, blog posts (from our entertainment blog, Idol Chatter), and more added to your group page or your individual page. Maybe you’ll stumble across your next favorite author!
Stay tuned to Beliefnet for more information about launching your Book Club on the site in the coming weeks. In the meantime, make sure you sign up to be notified when the new site launches.
