Meet Ayelet2
Many people come to Beliefnet’s message boards looking for hope and solace. In 2006, a member of Beliefnet’s Mormon community was upset about having a disability and not owning a car to get around. Enter Ayelet2, a regular poster in the Mormon Debate and Mormon Issues Boards. Ayelet2 not only posted encouraging words, she organized an interfaith Beliefnet fundraiser to get the member a car, which she then drove more than 1,000 miles to deliver.
But that wasn’t enough for Ayelet2, who goes by Cyndi when she’s not in Beliefnet-land. Another Beliefnet member posted about how he was disabled and trying to raise his 7-year-old daughter. He also didn’t have a car. Ayelet2 was up to the challenge and repeated her amazing deeds, raising money for his vehicle.
What Others Say About Her
“Ayelet2 took hold of the spirit of giving,” one Beliefnet member commented, “and inspired a community that is sometimes at odds over religious differences to come together for the sake of a fellow human being…twice. And I don’t doubt that she would do it again, if she saw a need. What a friend to have!”
What Ayelet2 Has to Say
“Jesus Christ told us the two greatest commandments are to love God, and to love one another,” she says. “I try to act upon these words — to walk the walk, and not just talk the talk. That can be a downright hard thing to do, but I am grateful when I encounter those who provide me the opportunity to learn how to become a better, more charitable, person.”
More About Her
When Ayelet2 isn’t astounding Beliefnet posters with her generosity, she is an avid traveler, bike-rider, and hiker. She also cultivates the relationships she’s formed on and off line with Beliefnet members. “I regularly correspond with people I’ve met on the Mormon boards — both members and those at odds with the Church — who live across the country, and across an ocean. I’ve even personally met a number of them. And we are truly friends. How cool is that?”
If you want to see Ayelet2 in action, she regularly hangs out in the Mormonism discussions.

Hi, I’m Ayelet. This was my original Beliefnet name before I lost it and became Ayelet2. Just a few minutes ago I was informed about this Member Spotlight article. If what we did over at the Mormon boards inspires anyone out there to help a friend (or stranger) in need, then this article is a wonderful thing. However, I want to make a clarification. The fundraising was a GROUP effort. Many people helped with prayers, time, encouragement, and money. All who participated contributed something very important and necessary to make these fundraisers successful. I merely got people together, but it was a group effort. Also, just to let you all know, I didn’t buy a car and travel 1,000 miles to deliver it. Our friend was experiencing difficulty getting around to see cars for sale because she had no car to get there in! So, I went to her house for a few days and drove her around to look for cars. But we didn’t find one while I was there. That was disappointing. She later found one on her own.
Okay, now I feel better…..
Thank you to Beliefnet for the boards, groups, forums, etc, that provide us members with a way to create fellowship with those we might ordinarily never meet, and to be of service to one another.

Ayelet-Cyndi is one of the most truly Christian people it’s ever been my pleasure to meet. She tries to understand and respect everyone, and proceeds along her life with quiet faith, courage, humility, and a delightful humor. She’s never too busy to help a friend with encouragement and more, if necessary and possible. I love her and admire her, and am frequently inspired by her. She’s one of the people i feel most privileged to have “met”, here on Beliefnet!

Cyndi is one of those people who practice what she preaches. The world is enriched by people like her.
What a wonderful person to highlight in starting this feature of Beliefnet off right!

Hi, I’m mctobby. I’m new to beliefnet but raring to contribute to this forum of ideas. I am a Catholic by baptism and practice but open to and tolerant of all religions of the world. I believe in what God said that He is the Life, The Way and The Truth. I believe in only One God. The religions all over the world differs only in traditions, culture and location. These is actually the WAY that GOD says. Be faithful in what you believe in and follow the rules of the religion you opted to be with. Follow the path that you have chosen. They go towards the SAME GOD only in different languages as what happened in the Tower of Babel. All religions teaches the same doctrine, “LOVE” and “PEACE”. If we all have both, we will all live in HARMONY with respect and care for all people of the world. So, let us all join hands and unite all people of the WORLD as we are all creatures of the ONE GOD that started this existence.
