Everything you need is in the Beliefnet Community, from prayer tips to prayer inspiration to–most important of all–prayer partners. To get started praying with friends at Beliefnet, check out our top prayer groups:
Prayer and Share: A lively, vibrant fellowship of friends who share prayer requests and praise reports, give and take prayer advice, and support one another in daily prayer.
Healing Through the Power of Prayer: This group focuses on prayers for the sick. If you’re hurting physically or know someone who is, come and pray with people who believe in the power of prayer to heal.
The Prayer of St. Francis: One of the most beloved prayers of all time was written by St. Francis of Assisi. This group mines that prayer for its endless resources of inspiration, encouragement, discipleship, and growth.

Historic, tragic events often are seared into the collective memory of a nation such as the attack on Pearl Harbor, the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Well, max, maybe because Beliefnet isn’t a Christian website, it’s a spiritual website. There are areas in the forums for many types of beliefs, including witchcraft and Wicca…and Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Scientology, Shintoism, Falun Gong, etc.

I just ant to submit a joke:
A little boy went on his firt trip with his dad! When they began the trip, everything was ‘okay’. Next thing the boy knew, his Dad got on a Big Road and started driving Faster! The Little Boy said: “Slow down Dad’; you are driving too fast’! The Father turns to the son and says: “Have no fear son, the Lord is with us’!
As they go further down this Big Road, his Dad drives even faster! by now, the Little boy is getting scared! He said: “slow down , Dad, you are Driving top fast”!! Once again, the Dad turns to the boy and says: “have no fear son, the Lord is with us”!
Finally the Dad floored the accelator and they were driving soooooooo
fast! The Little boy screams: “STOP THE CAR DAD”!! “The LORD and I
are getting OUT”!

Question to all christian groups:
The second commandment states,”thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images”
Is the roman catholic cruxifix,or any pictures of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,
considered to be graven images?

Prayer is the most powerful tool GOD uses to have his children connect with him, however, most people do not understand how to correctly use prayer.
In the first place, before you go into prayer with your FATHER you must always cleanse yourself first. If you neglect to to do this one thing, you could pray all day and night long anD DO CLEANSE YOURSELF. unless you cleanse yourself first GOD WILL HEAR YOUR PRAYER BUT HE WILL NOT ACT UPON IT UNTIL YOU DO CLEANSE YOURSELF. THAT IS ONLY TRUE RESPECT FOR YOUR FATHER. AND, ONE MORE TIDBIT, GOD HATES LONG DRAWN OUT PRAYERS OR WRITTEN PRAYERS. SUCH PRAYERS SHOW NO SINCERITY FROM THE HEART. A PROPER PRAYER IS JUST PLAIN TALKING TO GOD AND TELL HIM WHAT YOU NEED. WHEN GOD ANSWERS PRAYER IT MIGHT NOT BR WHAT YOU ASK FOR BUT IT IS WHAT YOU NEED AS HE DEEMS IN YOUR BEST INTERESTS. As for statues of saints and pictures, I don’t see what the problem is?
It is like having a lawyer going before the judge for your case.
It can’t hurt…

Hello out there!! :) I have to loose weight and I know what to do I work in health care as a health educator, MA, CPR Instructor, HIV Tester and Counselor and more.
I can’t get motivated to loose weight, I have to have a knee replacement and need to loose weight before I do. I cry because I can help others and yet I can’t myself.
I’ve prayed and will continue to pray. I need to loose 75lbs. I would like to loose 30 upfront but I don’t have the desire or motivation or care or concern anymore.
What’s wrong with me, sometimes I think I might be depressed and that might be why I don’t care.
So many things have gone wrong in my life within the past 2 years, my father died, my sister committed suicide, I was in a wreck my son was in 2 wrecks, my diswasher broke, my car is falling apart. You name it and it’s happened. And I want so bad to loose weight I just need to get motivated with the desire to really want to, but yet I truly don’t care and I want to care!!!
I am praying and will to continue to pray :)
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

David said to pray without ceasing…Prayer is being close enough in spirit to talk openly to Jesus…He doesn’t only want to hear your concerns…He wants to be your best friend…Compliment Him and praise Him as much as share your hurts and problems…That is what friends do..They love each other and do the right and truthful things for each other…It is great for me that I always have a best friend who cares about me no matter what…His father is a wonderful loving teacher…God knows what I need…I keep it simple…I hang out with Jesus, He is more than glad to tell His Father whatever is ask…I do not ask for me…I ask for Gods will for me, the wisdom to hear and see what He says, and the strength to act on His will for me…I keep it simple and my joy is overflowing…I cannot know the bounds of Gods power…I can know His boundless Love, grace, and mercy…Share the love…Dave…

Dear Fellow Travelers:
I am in a dry period as far as my spiritual life is concerned. I am trying to plan for my future financially as I am 70 years old and still working. I think the anxiety and the time I spend working are a terrible combination. I was meditating had a journal, a grateful journal and took a class at the library on spirituality. I also spent time praying with my neighbor. That is until it became so difficult to live on my fixed income. Now I take every job that comes along. My son just said to me “sufficient for the day are the worries there of” great saying and yet I am not there yet. I divorced after 45 years of marriage-my husband asked for the divorce and now he travels and has not steady job while I have 2 and pick up money for caring for peoples animals as well. I know forgiveness is a part of this and I was doing pretty well until he didn’t pay our taxes for 2003 the last time we filed together which he promised to pay. They took my rebate check and threatened to take my social security, wage and car. Now I am back to the anger I felt before. I am trying to kneel and pray again at least once a day. I guess I am starting small. Best wishes and God Bless those who are working on their journey. Ps I love women mystics
