This week we chatted with RETeach. Here's what she had to say in response to some of our questions,

Do you have a goal as to anything that you would like to accomplish by virtue of being a Beliefnet host?
RETeach: I am host on the Sexual Orientation board. I would really like for people to understand that sexual orientation is not a choice. I believe too many people still view sexual orientation as they do being liberal or conservative. They do not understand that while I can choose to be a liberal or a conservative, I cannot choose my sexual orientation. Attacking a group based on orientation is not like attacking liberals or conservatives--it is more like attacking someone based on hair color or height. I would like the hurting to stop.

What prompted you to volunteer?

In the next few weeks, Beliefnet Community is changing to a system that's more stable & more fun to use. Among the exciting features to look out for, we'll be offering:
- Greater stability so you can count on the site being available when you want it
- New features enabling you to easily access your forums, manage your groups, store your favorite content, and get notified about activity on your profile and content
- A sleek new design to make it simpler for you to navigate around the site and find what you're looking for

Most of you have probably already seen it, but in case you haven't noticed yet, we just launched the Recent Activity feed on Beliefnet Community. Those of you who have Facebook accounts will be familiar with this type of feed - it's an easy way for you to stay informed about what's going on in your personal network. Did a friend post a new photo? Now you can take a look. Did someone comment on your guestbook? This feed will let you know. You can track dozens of different activities across the community.

Did you notice a fun photo on the Community homepage and want to contribute your own photo on the same topic? It's now easier to do so through photo tagging. When you're uploading your photos on the site, just fill in the "tags" field with appropriate key words. Uploading a photo of your pet? Tag it with "pets" or "dog." Sharing a photo of your favorite spiritual place? Try tagging it "spiritual place."

If you've already uploaded your photos, you can add tags directly on the photo page.

Tagging photos will allow other Beliefnet members to find your photos easily in their own photo searches, and will help us feature your photos on the Community homepage. More improvements to tagging are coming soon.
