Category: Discover Jesus with Mark GalliMoving On
[As he was about to send his disciples out on a mission, Jesus said], "If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, shake the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them" (Mark 6:11).
In most instances, we are called to minister patiently to people even if they regularly reject our love. In fact, this is the history of God's dealing with us. But here Jesus tells his followers that a complete rejection of his word should sometimes signal that it is time for us to move on.
What would signal that it is time to move on? What would signal that it is time to continue to reach out? Where might you find spiritual discernment about such matters? Is there a situation you are facing now that requires such discernment?

This is part of Mark Galli's guided journal, "Discovering the Untamable God," a 12-week journey through the Gospel of Mark. Twice a week, you'll receive a new journaling prompt encouraging you encounter the wild, untamable Jesus of the Gospel of Mark and let his radical sayings and actions transform your life. Use these prompts in your own journal or in group discussion. If you're joining this journal mid-way through, you can start journaling at any time, and stay subscribed at the end, when the journal will restart and you can receive the prompts that you missed.

I AGREE, WE SHOULD LET GOD LEAD US WHEN IT COMES TO DECIDING IF WE SHOULD LEAVE SOMEONE ALONE. I KNOW OF PEOPLE WHO WILL SAY , WHEN THEY SEE SOMEONE COMING THAT THEY KNOW IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT GOD,OH! NO HERE THEY COME AGAIN WANTING TO TALK ABOUT GOD. SO ITHINK WE SHOULD PRAY AND PUT PEOPLE LIKE THIS IN GOD'S HANDS. HE WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWER.

I was sent to you guys, I think. I have been struggling to reconnect with God for years now. My heart was not open and I was angry and due to someone not leaving me alone, I am now reconnecting with God. I have been able to pray again here in the last two weeks and for me this is a miracle. So don't close your heart, when you are frustrated and want to give up just take a break, and because eternal damnation is what sinners and disbelievers are going to eventually find, don't give up on that person or on God.

I am a Reiki practitioner and energy worker for people and animals. Those operating on a higher energy level are often rejected and ridiculed, sometimes to the point of harm, whether verbal or physical. There are many ways to crucify a person in this world and words can be sharp as a spike or nail.... Often it takes another's perspective to show someone he/she needs to quit a job, relationship or move on.... in order to do the highest good, it isn't easy, but they longer you stay in a relationship where there is no one to relate to, no one on your energy level, the more draining it is for your Spirit. The thing is is that if it is God leading us to share with someone, He alone gives the energy, times, the words, etc...the hows and how, what nots. If He is not leading, it's clear, it's a burden, to your mind and body, it can be taxing on us. A burden in our hert, (gut) is different, it can also just be only to pray for the individual though, so making sure of God's leading is the answer. That we find out in prayer, (worship, medition on His word, supplications, quiet time before Him, reading His word) Being led in that and the simple gut feeling, which always makes provision for whatever and gives energy galore! He knows all, and sees all, we have to remember that. He takes care of all, in his time, his ways. His word is sent forth to accomplish things, it comes down as the rain and snow, accomplishing that which He sent it forth to do. His ways are higher, His thoughts are higher. This is God to me, simple, undaunted by too many mental thoughts, or words. God is easy we make it hard on us, at times.
