Express how you see God, Spirit, Higher Power, Jesus, (however you know the Divine Creator) and how this spiritual belief manifests in you and your life. If you follow specific teachings or doctrines, that's fine, describe them here. Let this come entirely through you, unimpeded and unedited, in partnership with God.
The reason I'm suggesting you identify and describe your spiritual leadings and feelings is for you to concretely and tangibly use that symbol to help you when you are in trouble with weight, food, exercise, or life problems. If it is a spiritual teacher, guide, guru, Savior, or prophet that brings you to God or the Higher Power - use this wonderful moment to connect or reconnect with a real spiritual source.

God is my strength and my comforter. As my faithful companion, God has never let me down and never abandoned me. Even though I have been allowed to experience difficult situations (of my own making), God's presence has always been there.
I don't think I look at God as any kind of symbol. God is an entity, a person to whom I speak and who listens to me. If I am ever left with questions about my spiritual path, if the answers are not yet clear, I have learned to just wait -- the answers will come. Many times the peace comes long before the answer.
