Dalai Lama Quote for Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Tuesday March 31, 2009

Categories: Daily Dalai Lama

I always believe that it is much better to have a variety of religions, a variety of philosophies, rather than one single religion or philosophy. This is necessary because of the different mental dispositions of each human being. Each religion has certain unique ideas or techniques, and learning about them can only enrich one's own faith.

Amen....You summed that up beautifully, PreciousNSober424:)...The same message...just "individualized" for the person...I, too, think God is that powerful!!

Faith and spritual grownt should be taylor made to the unique personality of the person seeking it. Understanding all faiths and philosphies also enable one to understand ones self and others better...

Surely we are all at different levels of our spiritual “schooling”...so why would we not migrate to a particular religion or thought process that met the requirements of the current particular “stage” of our personal spiritual development...and...as I have learned from my experience of being born into a religion that was quite “cult-like” in scope as well as “procedurally” legalistic and that went so far as to profess itself as being the “only” way to heaven...if you are ready for something different...you will find what you need for the next step on your spiritual path no matter how high it seems that the odds are stacked against you...and thank goodness...because that means it is not up to me to determine a person’s spiritual path...or where they “are” or what they need next...for it has become quite apparent to me as I moved about among all types of people...we are truly wonderfully made...and are blessed beyond measure with an indwelling compass that points us exactly in the direction we always need to go(and here I must interject...that not everyone... is willing immediately to follow that “arrow”...for I certainly have not been at times in my journey:)...the only responsibility I have in this spiritual process where my fellow humans are concerned...is to love them each and every one to the best of my ability...in all their incredible and miraculous stages...just as I would a child as it moves through all the stages of natural life...not in judgment do I wish to stand...but in wonder and in love seeking...once again...to the best of my “spiritual” ability ... to have a word in season...or a quiet smile (or just simple silence is sometimes best:) that sends the message of deepest care and support for their individual journey....
