Change Can Be Good -- And Usually Is

Friday is Book Day on the blog, when we take a look at books – old and new -- that I highly recommend you not miss. This week’s recommended reading: Making a Change for Good, Cheri Huber.

Every wants to change something in their life. Well, just about everybody, anyway. I know of very few people who don't want to change something. So this book by Cheri Huber will be right on target for tons of folks -- and you may be one of them.

I like the idea of the month-long program. I also like the idea of daily meditation, contemplation, and journaling. I have found each of these practices to be extremely useful and wonderfully beneficial in the lives of many, many people.

Conversations with God
says that "God is Change." All things in life change all the time. The question is not whether things are changing, but whether they are changing for the better or for the worse, at our direction and intention or in ways that are out of our control.

Good evening everyone,

I guess we are all busy changing roast turkey into other edible dishes like pot pie, tetrazini, hash.

Change is fascinating to ponder. It is the Isness moving through everything and happens all the time--the only thing not subject to change is change itself. I suppose all there is for us to do is to simply allow it to occur without any kind of resistance on our part, and, with each opportunity for response and for growth, ask and allow ourSelves to answer the only single question that ever really matters, "Does my choice of doing make me feel joy inside?"

God is so loving and really does intend for us to live in total joy always. All we need do to find inner peace is follow the trail of joy.

One of the most profound statements, I ever heard in counseling was "If nothing changes...nothing changes!" and a friend of mine from AA also sent me for Thanksgiving, a "Happy Birthday Greeting", and for a moment, I thought he punched in the wrong E-mail greeting, but then I recalled another profound statement "Today is the first day, of the rest of your Life", which brings me to "I have nobody to blame for my Life...but myself!"

I used to resist change as though it were the enemy. Now I embrace it like a child going to the fair.
Change is natural and wonderful.
Without allowing change to flow, it's kinda hard for all the good stuff to float in and the tough stuff to float away.
