Time to help some helpers

Friday is Book Day on the blog, but for the second week in a row I'm going to preempt that. Today I want to post on this blogsite a letter that I received in my email box recently from Jack...

Time to help some helpers is touchingly deep and poignant. I hope you succeed and thank our teachers for all they have done to enlighten the world and lighten our load.

How ironic that these beloved teachers now need the very help they have given others.

It's a shame that this happens and also an opportUNITY for those of us who care to give our energies in a physical way as a donation of any amount.

Of course one wonders why they did not issue the proper resources for themselves, another irony. Still, they who give so much and not enough for themselves will be taken care of by the law of attraction.

A law we can engage in by giving as well.

Someone said it was ironic that these wonderful people are now stricken with what they had been helping others overcome. This is actually quite common.

It also clearly demonstrates that what we focus on is what we manifest/bring into our reality.

I am, in no way, condemning these wonderful people! It is just a profound lesson to learn that each of us must keep our lives in balance and harmony which means taking time away from work to rest and recuperate so that you are not literally "consumed" by your work. A former NFL football player that weighed over 300 pounds had the job that meant he had to put his body through rigorous physical exercises. To balance this, you would never guess what he did...he did needlepoint! (This great football player was Rosie Greer, in case anyone remembers him.)

But it is very important that we keep our bodies healthy by eating right, exercising, relaxing, and taking time for spiritual study/work/prayer/meditation, etc.

My prayers for healing go out to this couple.

Dear Neale,
I read your blogs alot and I enjoy this website as a whole. I feel for Stephen and Ondrea Levine, they devoted their lives to others and now they need help. Although I don't know the Levines or have read any of their books,I feel a need to help them in some way. I can't help them monetarily but I can send them distance healing in the form of Reiki.
I am a Reiki Master/Practitioner and if you tell me where they are located,I would love to do this for them.
Everyone asks "why do bad things happen to good people?" As it was told me "things just happen, that's life,G-D thinks of every human being as his child and doesn't purposely inflict pain and suffering on them." Looking forward to hearing from you,

Stephen and Ondreas tapes, books have helped so many thousands in becoming more alive and dealing with grief-i have been especially gratefully after loosing my partner last year unexpectedly and so hard to forgive self but their words and compassion immeasurable. i don't know their lives but i am sure they took care of themselves and know i am not being tolerant of the comment implying they are to blame somehow. my faith is restored in this young human species when i think of people like stephen and ondrea. gratefully

Ondrea- Thank you deeply for your post. I just learned all of this news tonight, as I attempted a web search to catch up with you guys after having a lengthy and inspiring dream about Stephen last night. My heart melts to hear of whatever difficulties you're experiencing but it's so great to see/read your words. You sound exactly the same as when I knew you briefly during a series of conferences in the early 90's. All of your teachings sing within me as vibrantly as they did when they changed my life, and my gratitude will extend forever. I will make a donation of course, as mere token of what you've both given me, but I will keep you in my heart for the rest of my days.

Jeannie,

I found your words to be in no way helpful but thoughtless and judgmental. Would you want someone to imply that your suffering was brought about by your poor life choices? Do you really believe that any amount of eating properly or exercising will help anyone on this earth evade death?

I hope you will think long and hard before you next feel compelled to share your thoughts on such an important subject.

Re: the comments about blame and the Levines' situation, it's possible that the folks who wrote them are not acquainted with the Levines' remarkable teachings and gift of service. They have immeasureable value and gently, radically change one's point of view.

I just finished reading Stephen Levine's spiritual autobiography, "Turning Toward the Mystery," and wanted to know what he'd done more recently, and that search led me to this site. Over the years I've found that the voices of these two -- more than any other --speak a brave truth that wakes me up. They are a treasure. Folks who aren't yet familiar with their work are in for a treat.

Many thanks to them for all they've given and for their remarkable candor, about themselves and much else. (A donation is on the way.)
