Conversations with God

What God Wants - Part 3

Sunday June 22, 2008

Many people may feel threatened and may become angry by what will be appearing in this blog on Sundays between now and Christmas. Yet in a society that is based on the free flow of ideas, that should not stop the expression of the thoughts here...and it won't.

Over the next half year of Sundays, from June until Christmas, I am going to be posting excerpts here from the book What God Wants, and commenting upon them. I invite you to comment upon them as well, in the space provided below. Then, I will comment on your comments. And you can comment on mine. It is time, I think, that we had a wide-ranging and in-depth discussion of this important topic. It is time for all of humanity to have this discussion. Because humanity's beliefs about God, and about what God wants, are driving the engine of the human experience.

Picking up where we left off last week in this continuing series, we offer the observation that many people will simply be afraid to believe what's in this blog in the weeks ahead, from the book What God Wants.

A dramatically different idea is going to be presented here just a few Sunday from now. So opposed to this idea is the established order that, in some countries, if you said aloud the things that are going to appear in this book, you could be killed.

Not by an angry mob.

By the government.

You could be accused of committing a crime against the laws of the land, and sentenced to death. In other countries, while you may not be killed, you could be criticized, vilified, and ostracized. You could also be removed from any place of influence you may hold, and your views would almost certainly be marginalized.

Yes, that's how dangerous what is going to be written here is.

You see, millions of people all over the world have been living their lives based on the information they have been given about What God Wants, and if the world's prior information on this topic is inaccurate, the world could be in big trouble.

The world's prior information on this topic is inaccurate.

The world is in big trouble.

The world does not have to be in big trouble. It is because it chooses to be. Its people could make a different choice.

I think that very soon they will. I think people have had enough. They've had enough of the violence and the terror and the killing. They've had enough of the bickering and the quarreling and the fighting that leads to it.

They've had enough of their own lives not working, of seeing their own relationships falling apart, of watching their own careers crumble, of having their own dreams dissolve and disappear.

They've had enough of everything being such a struggle in our world, with every day filling itself with adversity and difficulty all over the globe. They've had enough of human society taking two steps forward and one step back, constantly, constantly, constantly trudging into the wind.

The human race is losing patience with itself. I think people are saying, "There's got to be another way." We're becoming more and more clear that there is. We simply have to make that choice.

Sometimes people think they must live the way they are living because they have no choice. The appearance of things can often make it look as though this is very, very real. But it is never real. Never.

People do have a choice, and the Sunday entries on this blogsite over the next several months are going to prove that to you. People have a choice in the life they are creating and they have a choice in how they are experiencing the life they are now living. Before you get to the final blog entry in this series on a Sunday in December you're going to be given the most powerful tool there is with which to make your choices real. For now, know this: People who make a different choice are people who make a different world.

It is time now for the Choice Makers to step forward. If they do not, the world will continue moving in the direction in which it is moving. That is not a direction in which humanity says it wishes to go. Yet what is humanity willing to do about that? This is the question now before the world.

If humanity's highest idea about the direction that it wishes to take is not asserted now, its lowest idea could be embraced by default. That is what is happening at this moment in some people's minds in many parts of the world.

There are those who say that this is how it is because this is how it has to be. These are, they say, the End Times--and this is What God Wants.

Yet people can be saved, they say. People do not have to be Left Behind. When the Tribulation is at hand, people can be saved. All they have to do is finally accept the Good News.

Well, have I got good news for you.

Humanity does not understand What God Wants.

(This series continues in this space next Sunday.)

The reason there are " converted believers" in every fox hole - is that they are focused on their mortality.

With all the hyper communication of cell phones, TV, CD's etc, the general population at large is distracted into themselves - into their own dream of reality. There is minimal education provided for the ability to - think for yourself. Consequently, - the adage of: When you always do, as you always did, you'll always get what you always got. The bottom line, no change can or will take place.

It may take a global catastrophy to refocus. You can talk to a horse until hell freezes over. It may well take a 2x4 to get its attention, then it may listen to the message.

BryontheRoad, I find your comment appalling about Muslims. The first change for you appears to be your ideas about Muslims. I personally don't know any Muslims like you have described, but we seem to have a President that proclaims to be a Christian, yet he has murdered millions of Iraqis, Afghanis, and American military in his illegal invasions. I sincerely hope that the people of this nation make new choices, but not for candidates that offer more violence and such disregard for human life. I look forward to Neale's teachings on What God Wants, because up to now, the human race has had it wrong. Peace Please.

Is your idea of God, one of Peace? Did Christ bring Peace to this World? And if He did, why do we not have Peace in our own homes, our own Nation in the whole World?

If the Prince of Peace has yet to be understood why would anyone believe that Peace in this world come with just the mear change in a political party?
Peace was never to be seen as passivity. If that were true, the story of the Good Samaritian would have very little meaninh. He did not turn the other cheek. He did not turn a deaf ear or a blind eye to the pain enflicted by another!
In a world where so my evil exists, to place blame on those who wish to bring others out of the darkness of slavery, dictatorship, hunger, injustice and who have had their best lay their lives on the line, for those across the seas, for no self gain, other than to do the right thing for another? I think its time to re-evaluate what you think an unselfish act means? To say that our God, wants us to look the other way, when evil men do evil to one another, and then see our soldiers as part of those evil men..then I do know that your idea of Christ , Love in action with Good Will as its intent,...has yet to be lived in your heart!

Elinor, please consider how Jesus reacted when Peter raised his sword when the high priests came and arrested Him. The greatest gift God has given us is free will. Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified because He would not interfere with the free will of man.

God does not punish. God does not judge. God is perfect Love.

When I read the words of someone I disagree with, sometimes it is hard to remain calm and kind. But that is what Jesus would do; it is what God does.

Elinor dear, it is not the job of any of us to tell another what is in their heart. God bless you.

I never said God punishes..my understanding that the Good in us All is my God!
It is the turning of words where the deception lies!
Christ did not preach Peace He delivers it!
What He did preach was right relationships! That is the course for all who believe in Him..
My reponse was to those who use their political opinions as the source of their God!
