The Democrats aren't sure what to do next. Some say the party should hang back and let the Republicans hang themselves -- in other words, run simply on "Had enough?" Others say the party should press forward with a bold agenda, to give the voters something to vote for instead of relying on them voting against the GOP.
Me, I'd like to see them take some bold steps instead of this tactical nickel-and-diming. But I gotta say, when the public faces of your party are Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and Hillary Rodham Clinton, you've got a long way to go to sell any agenda.

I think that many Democrats would support some limitations on abortion. I don't like it when I hear Republicans say that Democrats support abortion on demand because it makes it sound like their aren't restrictions in place at present. Personally, I don't like the idea of the government(people) making my health care decisions for me in a general and generic sort of way by making blanket legislation without exceptions. That's why Bill Clinton vetoed that legislation. Have you ever noticed that Republicans never write abortion legislation that allow for reasonable exceptions? Wonder why that is. It seems to pass when reasonable legislation is written.
I support strict fetal rights(after 10 weeks- that's when an embryo becomes a fetus). I don't support government interference in obtaining the morning after pill and sticking their hands into the FDA.
I agree that it's time for more political parties.
You're right, anonymous. I forgot about warrants. People in high places have historically not done well with a position of power and maintaining integrity. The Democrats need to develop a plan to deal with terrorism while respecting the laws of the nation. I think that they can do both.>
It seems that something funky is happening with the posts. I wrote the last post-not anonymous.>
I'm Watsy. I wrote the last two posts. Let's stop blaming "anonymous.">
Watsy,
What restrictions are there on abortions at present?>
I don't know if you'll check back on this, cs. But the restrictions vary from state to state. Most states don't permit abortion once the fetus is viable. Somewhere around the 22nd week? Many states have parental notification laws. Some states have spousal notification laws. Many states have a waiting period and also educational requirement(part of informed consent).>
