Here's news that the Sonoma County District Attorney might well have enough evidence to charge Santa Rose Bishop Daniel Walsh with a crime in connection with the escape to Mexico of a priest wanted for child molestation. Bishop Walsh might have broken state law by waiting three days to alert authorities that he believed his priest, Xavier Ochoa, had molested children -- a three-day lag that gave Ochoa time to flee to Mexico. You can read the whole horrible story of Xavier Ochoa, and indeed of the Santa Rosa Diocese under the lavender-mafioso Bishop Ziemann, on the Bishop Accountability page.

If the evidence indicates Walsh is probably guilty, I pray that the DA will indict. I really do, especially after the series my own newspaper ran about how bishops and churchmen all over have run a rat line to help accused molester priests escape the law. Several good priests have, over the past few years, remarked to me that this scandal won't be seriously addressed in the US until and unless one or more bishops is sent to prison for his role in the scandal. If the DA believes Bishop Walsh is guilty of a crime, then he should have the courage to bring an indictment, and let the chips fall where they may.

The gays wish they had that much power The level of gay panic among some in the Catholic church would be amusing if it weren't so sad.>

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT!

Dear Neighbors,
Father Charlie Gagan is the Pastor of St. Ignatius Church, 650 Parker Avenue, San Francisco. Email: gagan@usfca.edu
Even though numerous priests have sexually abused children, many parents still believe that a parish priest would never harm their child. Do you know that thousands of Catholic priests have been credibly accused and many have been found guilty of sexually abusing boys and girls as well as vulnerable adults?
Catholic bishops allow some pedophile priests to remain in ministry so it s best not to allow your children ever to be alone with a priest. If your children participate in parish activities, always ask them what happens at church sponsored activities. Even if you trust your parish clergy, keep an open mind and accept that your children may be at risk.
A middle-aged man recently disclosed that his priest uncle sexually abused him when he was a teenager; a priest that sexually abuses a family member is also capable of harming your children. Incest is harmful and it s important to report the molester to the SFPD immediately! If you know of or suspect that a child has been sexually abused, call the San Francisco Police Department, (415) 553-8090.
Catholic Bishops have willfully neglected the molestation of children by priest pedophiles. Bishop Walsh of Santa Rosa recently violated state reporting laws by neglecting to report a priest with multiple charges of sexual abuse to the police! As a result, Fr. Ochoa fled to Mexico and may presently be molesting trusting children. It s the duty of families and communities to insure the safety of their children. Families can no longer trust the Catholic Bishops to protect children from criminal acts by priests. The San Francisco Archdiocese has made a mockery of California reporting laws and the government allows it to continue. What can you do?
. Call the SFPD if you suspect that a child has been sexually abused.
. Teach your children about good touch and bad touch.
. Never allow your children to be alone with clergy.
. Listen and talk to your children about their daily activities.
. Believe your children and hug them for telling you the truth.
. Demand that Fr. Gagan provide education about priest predators and how
how to identify when a child is being groomed for abuse.

YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN!>
