The Aussies have read Muslim leaders there the riot act. Excerpt:

The Howard Government's multicultural spokesman, Andrew Robb, yesterday told an audience of 100 imams who address Australia's mosques that these were tough times requiring great personal resolve.
Mr Robb also called on them to shun a victim mentality that branded any criticism as discrimination.

"We live in a world of terrorism where evil acts are being regularly perpetrated in the name of your faith," Mr Robb said at the Sydney conference.

"And because it is your faith that is being invoked as justification for these evil acts, it is your problem.

"You can't wish it away, or ignore it, just because it has been caused by others.

"Instead, speak up and condemn terrorism, defend your role in the way of life that we all share here in Australia."

Mr Robb said unless Muslims took responsibility for their destiny and tackled the causes of terrorism, Australia would become divided.

Just wondering...Is anyone on the national political scene in America sounding such a bright note, as compellingly as did Mr. Robb? Who's our "Mr. Robb"? Just wondering.>

I had a great time the other day at Nashville's annual Australian Festival. Had I known about this, I'd have spent a lot more money with them.

I see nothing politically incorrect about what Mr. Robb said. He didn't go off getting down on the prophet and claiming that Islam is doomed to violence because of the prophet. He's not suggesting that Australian Muslims be sent to the equivalent of Gitmo or be kicked out of the country. He's not even blaming the people sitting there for the obvious-that Islam has within it people who counter insults with violence. He's stating the obvious. This is part of your religion. You need to speak out against it.

George Bush is our leader. Let's see how he handles it.>
