I think any party with too much power gets complacent, and a chance to reform is a much needed thing, all around.>

Any Republican that gives me THAT line of, "I supported the President before but NOW I've seen the light," had better have the glow of enlightenment glowing on his face, because otherwise I'm gonna say something a little stronger than "riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!" and write-in Homer Simpson as my candidate of choice...>

...Bush didn't get us where we are today without the votes from Congress...

Wanna bet the Dems remember that too?

Already got an attack ad on TV against the Las Vegas Republican candidate for my district. All it said was, "He voted with Bush 90 percent of the time." That was the SOLE bash!

Betcha this particular GOP candidate goes down...>

We shoulda voted for Gore? Nah.>

No, completely separate from the facts that Gore and Kerry were problematic for many reasons is the fact that George Bush has done a terrible job on many fronts. Your 'we should've voted for Gore' line is just like the 'what, you'd rather Sadaam be in power' line.

Wouldn't have been in Iraq. Nope. Could have put a lot of money into homeland security and intelligence. Yep.>

mlyon,
I really do hear you. I'm sick of both sides. I've not received on flyer from the dems telling me what they'd do if elected. I've received many telling me how the current man voted. I've received flyers from the GOP candidate calling the opponent a "liberal"(that dirty word). He's told us what he'd do, but not much, and I don't agree with what he's said.>

I don't care how hypocritical or weak or turncoat-ey they'd sound.

I wish more Congresspeople and Seantors on both sides of the isle who were caught up in the wave of misplaced enthusiastic trust of this administration would speak up and speak out - it's never too late to admit that we're wrong and that it's time to do things differently.

It's unfortunate that coming to reasoned conclusions that involve doing things differently ahs been so vehemently labeled "waffling" or "Cutting and running" by the spin machine of the administration.

Friends on both the left and right should continue riding this new wave of rationality.>

I don't have a problem with Republicans saying what they'd do differently. I get frustrated with the Democrats who won't say what they'd do differently. I would love to see one ad or get one mailing that didn't say anything about the opponent but would say who they are and where they stand on the issues. It's like both sides have this way of talking and campaigning that doesn't really tell me anything.>

Well mercy sakes, what on earth has gotten into Joe Scarborough? He's beginning to make sense. Maybe I'll have to start watching his MSNBC show, instead of surfing past it after about two minutes, which is usually about all I can stand.

Joe Scarborough making sense? What could possibly happen next? Tom DeLay getting a conscience? Pres. Bush saying "nyu-clee-ar"? We can but hope...>

I'd agree that it'd be better for conservatism for the GOP to lose the House- which has made me decidedly conflicted as recent polls suggest that they've got a good shot at retaining their majority. On the one hand, I cannot but rejoice at the idea that the Democrats can't even win in circumstances such as these; on the other, I think continued control of House, Senate & Presidency will make it harder to hold onto any of them come '08.>
