Get a load of this: British atheist Richard Dawkins interviews the Rev. Ted Haggard. Dawkins poo-poohs the "childish" idea of seeing the world in black and white, yet he compares the service at the New Life Church to a Nuremberg rally. Haggard rightly dings Dawkins for "intellectual arrogance," but in that conversation, denied the scientific age of the Earth. One cringes all around.

Meanwhile, you're not going to believe this insane "Halloween Mass" at an Orange County Catholic church. It's got a couple of laypeople in devil costume distributing communion and helping on the altar. Vomit. Go read Amy Welborn's discussion of this junk.

Ah, YouTube. You put me in touch with my inner Ignatius Reilly. And this blog is just an electronic Big Chief tablet.

"You obviously know nothing about the subject of evolution."

What struck me was this response came from the man who's called "Darwin's rotweiller", an avowed atheist who nevertheless is probably the most intelligent and sharply articulate spokesman for the evolutionary worldview. I suddenly realized that I'm guilty of the same error as Haggard - and many other Christians too: a gross misinterpretation of evolution. And I'm guilty of the same error as so many evolutionists, who as grossly misinterpret our faith in God as we misinterpret their faith in science. In order to avoid being told that I know nothing about the subject of evolution - and thus not being able to engage any evolutionists in an intelligent debate - I thought I should review the facts.

Why did Dawkins take such offense at Haggard's remark about the eye evolving by accident? I think it has to do with the fact that evolutionists believe life developed through the mechanism of natural selection, which to them is the "intelligent designer", rationallly guiding every genetic process of every organism toward improved degrees of functional adaptation to it's environment, until it is fit for reproductive survival, and they see empirical scientific evidence of this throughout the history of life on earth. A mature evolutionist knows the details and operations of natural selection as well as a mature Christian knows the attributes and character of God. We have no right to call natural selection simply "an accident" without really understanding it, just as the evolutionist has no right to call God "a mental virus" without really comprehending Him.

All this to say, we need to learn more about evolution so that we will know how to debate intelligently and effectively with those who think our beliefs about God's creation are childish and irrational. For example, it appears our argument of irreducible complexity has been soundly refuted by evolutionists on the basis of scientific methodology. We must accept the fact that neither creationism nor intelligent design will ever be accepted or even considered to be at all within the realms of academic science, simply because it begs the question, "who done it?" Dawkin's challenge to Christians is, show me empirical scientific evidence for the existence of God, and then I'll believe.

But, of course, this evidence will appear only on the revelationary Last Day when Dawkins will no longer have a chance to repent. Until then, "the just shall live by faith" in the unchanging One, and the rest of the world shall stumble blindly from one new theory to the next!>

That post was all over the place. You seem to be making conflicting statements.>

look at this mans face.

evangelicals own it.

it's yours, we dont' want it?
he tried to destroy our lives,

this man has been using your money to pay for male sex and drugs.

own that, and when you are up on your mountain, throwing those verbal stones at us, again remember this face.

this is the face of evil.

read you bible and see what it says about hypocrisy and then look at this man, and you will see the face of evil.

own it, deal with it, and let it go, and then you will find peace and forgivness my friends.
we will forgive your sin of hypocrisy.
