GOP shame spiral

Tuesday August 28, 2007

Categories: Republicans

Paging Stuart Smalley! The Republican Party -- we of the wide stance, not those narrow stances you expect from nancy-boy Democrats -- is in a shame spiral. Saith the gloatish (and who could blame them?) NYTimes:

“The real question for Republicans in Washington is how low can you go, because we are approaching a level of ridiculousness,” said Mr. [Scott] Reed [a leading GOP political consultant], sounding exasperated in an interview on Tuesday morning. “You can’t make this stuff up. And the impact this is having on the grass-roots around the country is devastating. Republicans think the governing class in Washington are a bunch of buffoons who have total disregard for the principles of the party, the law of the land and the future of the country.”

I like that man's stance.

Maybe Craig can get Robert Rubin or Madeline Albright to vouch for him.

What would we do if we did not have Republican hypocrites to provide us with a good laugh on occasion?

I mean, just think if that had been a Democrat. He would have said, "Yeah, I'm gay and I was bored that day," and that would have been the end of the story. No laughs there at all.

It's always the coverup that gets them. If Clinton had just sold the Lewinsky story to the National Inquirer and used the proceeds to pay his Whitewater legal bills, the whole impeachment thing would never have happened. But Clinton, being a Southern gentleman, wouldn't kiss and tell...
