Two radio notes involving regular commentators on this here blog.

Dallas lawyer Bill Holston delivers a "This I Believe" essay on how working to help refugees gain asylum has taught him the value of serving his fellow man. And Dallas writer Rawlins Gilliland, whose mother was a trailblazing feminist journalist back when newspapering was a mostly-male profession, discloses what it was like for him working in a predominantly female office, and having to feel like the odd man out.

You can read both essays at the links, but I suggest clicking on the "listen" icon, to hear these friends' great voices.

Inspiring commentary by Mr. Holston -- but then again, he was your contributor who said our broken immigration system would eventually destroy the United States, wasn't he?

I don't know.

Thanks Rod. Larry, I'm pretty sure that wasn't me, because I don't think I ever said that. In fact I don't believe that. I love our country. I love the fact that it's a country of immigrants. There's lots to be reformed about immigration. If anything destroys our country, it's more likely to be something like reality tv.

Rawlins essay was wonderful also.
