Archbishop Ncube resigns

I guess this pretty much settles whether or not the brave Robert Mugabe critic really was canoodling a married woman. Sigh.

I read this blog quite a bit, but rarely post. Here goes...

Ncube clearly made a terrible series of decisions, and I do not mean to defend them. However, he has been a brave voice in a country whose regime is determined to crush dissent by any means necessary. I do not think he should remain bishop, but I hope he continues to speak out against Mugabe and his thugs.

I hope Pope Benedict realizes how important his choice of a successor will be in this case. If he appoints someone whom Mugabe considers more tractable, it will make this tragedy even worse.

I don't think the resignation confirms the allegations at all. He submitted it back in July, and the charges only began directly after he said publically it would be morally legitimate to overthrow Mugabe's despotic regime. The guy who shot the video also helped Mugabe kill 20,000 people. Faking a sex video? Child's play.

I posted much more on the topic here: http://www.americanpapist.com/2007/09/abp-ncube-ntrouble-but-what-is-truth-of.html

With a name like Ncube, he may also consider a secondary career as a rapper.

I am not sure about this. If he was indeed conducting such an affair(s) he has rocks in his head considering the background of his attacks on the regime.

Oh well, looks like the 3rd world thugs have found out how to discredit and LOOT their Church opponents from abuse scandal coverage of the US, and this is regardless of whether the video is legit or not.
