Victor Morton sends along the bad news. Man, the icons of my misspent Seventies childhood are falling one by one. First we lost Charles Nelson Reilly this year, and now this. If Fannie Flagg or Gary Burghoff or Richard Dawson go next, I'm going to retire to my garden shed and put on a mangy bathrobe and drink rotgut scotch until Advent.

Don't forget Mike Douglas, too (Because I did :-)).
His shows with John and Yoko?
Priceless.
I won't consider myself offically old until Bob Newhart dies.
Man, this is sad news indeed. It's somehow poetic that Brett and Charles went in the same year...
On the other hand...reading this has cheered me tremendously. I didn't realize Richard Dawson was still alive. But we did also loose Tom Poston recently. He, too, was a treasure.
Speaking of Newhart and Tom Poston, saw several years back where Suzanne Pleshette underwent a sucessful cancer surgery, so hope she's doing well. (Yes, I saw the recent tabloid cover that has her at death's door, but didn't even bother to read it).
I know this is from the 80's, but the final scene of Newhart was classic (The one where he wakes up in bed from his dream...). That and the scene where Tom Poston's character introduces himself then says, "That's Larry's brother Darryl, and his other brother Darryl".
Great stuff!!
