So I tried the visual test to see if I was right-brained or left-brained. I saw the dancer spinning clockwise, which means I'm right-brained, and:
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling "big picture" oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can "get it" (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based
I immediately thought I was being put on, and that everybody would see her spinning clockwise. But then I stared at her feet, and weirdly enough, I began to perceive her spinning in the opposite direction. Try it yourself to see if you can make her change directions.

OK - I spent *way* too much time with this, but a coworker who sees things better than I do got me to a technique that worked. Look at the shadow of the foot and try to see it swinging back and forth like a windshield wiper. Once you can get it swinging like a windshield wiper, move to the foot/lower leg and again work on seeing the windshield wiper. Then you should be able to get her to switch. I can now switch her back and forth.
I admire the people with the visual dexterity to get it so much faster than I did.
I also started giggling like a silly fool once I got her to switch the first time :-)
I've looked at this for a loooong time, and I can only see it going clock-wise (right-brain). I've tried every technique given to make her switch, but it doesn't matter: she is ALWAYS going clockwise.
Now, here is what is interesting: I am a computer programmer and I enjoy (and am good at) math, am very detail-oreinted, and am very logical. Everyone who knows me well would say that I am definitely "left-brained".
Go figure.
You sound like me Francis (I am a software geek as well) - don't give up. Try the windshield wiper technique - looking at the shadow of the foot. Try to see it going back and forth, not round and round. Once you can see the shadow move up to the foot, then it will come.
OK... this is good...
the people viewing it together and seeing different spins have confirmed it is not fake...
so... what about the left/right brain thing?
the blurb claims this is an accurate left/right brain test...
the fact that so many people see "switching" negates that claim...
it's quite interesting that many people seem to accept the left/right claim without seeking reasonable verification...
sure, the two halves of the brain function differently...
but there's no reasonable connection between this test and left/right brain stuff...
so... is there a lesson here?
could be...
how about not accepting unusual claims without good solid connecting evidence?
such as...
a person may pray to their Personal Choice of a God and claim that their prayer was "answered"...
and sure, there could be great coincidental changes in their circumstances...
but there's no way to connect "God" with any claims of answers...
just like the changes in the dancer's spin don't have any connection to left/right brain functions...
in other words...
claims should be examined well to minimize that a person "won't get fooled again"...
it's best to not leave unusual claims unexamined...
faith hope love joy peace to all...
Wow...at first I thought this was a a joke, because it seemed so obvious that she was turning clockwise, but after 5 minutes after looking at it out of the corner of my eye while reading the text, I was finally able to see the counter-clockwise spin. Now it keeps flipping back and forth for me. I guess that means I'm confused...
