I need urgent assistance from any readers who are familiar with QuickTime Pro, and the MacBook. I'm supposed to be taping a BloggingheadsTV episode, but I can't get the camera and the software to work properly. The image I keep getting is solarized -- I mean, it appears in a special effects mode. This was not the case the last time I used this equipment to do BHTV, and I've been working for a long time to try to figure out what's causing the problem, and how I can fix it. The manual is no help at all. The PhotoBooth feature gives me a normal image, but playing back old QuickTime movies renders them in the weird effects visual mode, when they were recorded normally.
If you can give advice, e-mail me ASAP at rdreher(at)dallasnews.com. Thanks!
UPDATE: Just spent half an hour on the phone with Apple. Ran a bunch of diagnostics, and determined the problem is with the QuickTime Pro software. I've been advised to download it again and reinstall it, which I'm going to do later today (we have no wireless access here at the newspaper, for security reasons). Thanks to faithful Jim, who e-mailed with helpful advice!
