Cheney: No big whoop

Friday November 2, 2007

Categories: Republicans

Well, that was a big bunch of nothing -- Vice President Cheney's noon speech here in Dallas. We'd been told to expect a "major announcement." All he said was (and I paraphrase): "The Iraq War was the right thing to do, we have to win, we love our troops, thanks and God bless." He was also in town last night speaking at a fundraiser for US Sen. John Cornyn. Methinks he gave this pep talk at the World Affairs Council to charge taxpayers for the trip on Air Force Two for a political fundraiser. But you know me, I'm awfully uncharitable.

I thought he was going to tell us all what was buried in the barn in your friend's dream.

He has that power, you know.

I heard the Secret Service put on more of show this time. At first I thought the public was coming over to my perspective about Cheney. Then I read he was shopping for a shotgun.
