"...but I never danced anyway."

Sunday December 23, 2007

Categories: Catholicism

Father Benedict Groeschel was involved in a terrible auto accident not long ago -- and lived. He's celebrating Christmas this year with the poor, as usual, and offered this wonderful remark to the NYTimes:

“They said I would never live. I lived,” he said. “They said I would never think. I think. They said I would never walk. I walked. They said I would never dance, but I never danced anyway.”

Wunnerful. Many years, Father Benedict!

God bless Fr. Benedict and the Franciscan Friars of the renewal!! A great spiritual leader. It is always a gift to hear his teachings.

Here's one for anyone who has the time . . . Merry Christmas and a beautiful new year/

I've been blessed to hear Fr. Benedict speak. In addition to great teaching, he tells some very funny stories. If you've ever heard him speak you've probably heard the ones about landing a fish in the confessional, and the impact of a robust liturgical dancer on the occupant of the Tabernacle. Funny funny stuff.

God has blessed us all with his recovery.

Merry Christmas!
