The greatness of Western civilization

Monday December 10, 2007

Categories: Food

Which civilization on the planet besides ours could create the Martini Pickle? I ask you. You gotta watch that video.

UPDATE: Geek that I am, I'm going to acquire for Christmas one of those home vacuum-sealer systems. I've alreadyspent too much of my day working out a plan to use small, possibly somewhat modified, Tupperware containers to approximate the laboratory vacuum. I'll report back when I've perfected the process. Maybe I can train Matthew to do this, and he can earn a Cub Scout badge. If I ran the Cub Scouts, there would certainly be a merit badge in Cocktail-Making for Daddy.

Update: No fair! My Christmas budget is already tied up in upgrades to my SUV. I can't afford a vacuum sealer system.

Seriously, report back on your progress.
