Dr. Paul said his efforts to overturn Roe vs. Wade aren't at odds with his libertarian philosophies."I honor and respect the notion that our homes are our castles, and I don't want the government in our homes," he said.
"That does not say that the parents of children in a home have the right to kill their children."

And, left to nature, in most cases, that life will grow and be born. Posted by: Timothy Copple | January 25, 2008 3:05 AM

It is my understanding that left to nature, in something like 30% of all cases the fertilized egg will fail to implant and be expelled from the woman's body during her next menstrual cycle.

Referring to the "breath of life" in Genesis, that's God breathing life into Adam, not directly Adam taking a breath. God breathing in the breath of life can easily happen at conception.

How do you know that it does not mean Adam directly taking a breath?
You don't, but it is convenient for your belief that life begins at conception to assume that it does.
Thank you everyone for your comments. Watsy, I guess you can really understand how I feel. It has been like drowning in an ocean & this person offers you a life line to just take it away at the last moment. I swear to you that I would rather be the gay person than the mother. I lived my life & raised my children just like the way Erin & Rod are raising theirs. People always commented on how nice, good, smart, etc. my children were. We ate dinner together, prayed together, went to church together, missions trips, youth group, etc. We did everything "right". My son did NOTHING. You have to actually do something to become addicted, etc.
As a mother, you want to protect your children & take away their aches & pains, etc. I can't do that. I never will be able to. If you want to talk about a humbling humbling experience - I am living through it. I always taught my children not to judge because we have not walked in someone elses shoes. I thought I had empathy. I did, but you can never really understand it until you are actually living through that given situation. To be told that your son will go to hell because he wants someone to cherish him & live with him like you & your husband is beyond my comprehension. I am sorry, but I will stand up for his rights regardless of what others say.
I wish you all luck on your journeys. If there is a God, no one else will be standing there before Him for judgement - just me. If he asks me why I did things I know in my heart that I have done what I feel I was supposed to do. The church, priests, pastors, etc. will not be standing there in my defense. I know one thing I don't want to stand there & say well, I just followed a set of rules & regulations. Maybe those rules & regulations are best for some, but I think if there is a God & He wanted us to be robots then what is the purpose of giving us knowledge, a heart, etc.?
mom,
That's right. Eventually, it will be you standing before God. Then your son standing before God. There's peace in that if you truly believe in or know of the love and grace of God.
You take care. See you around.
You aren't, usually, an unkind person.
Yes she is. Calm and rational, and often unkind. Like Nurse Ratched.
"The deliberate slaying of an innocent person apparently only dishonors the creator when anyone other than the creator does it."

God gives earthly life for His purposes and He takes it for His purposes. Are you angry with Him for doing that? Be careful.
To God, earthly life is less than a blink of an eye. When He takes it, the innocent overcome death and gain everlasting life--the real life-- where there is only unimaginable joy. But the damned loose everlasting life; they have traded it for Hell, which God considers death.
You already knew that in your heart, and, if you still had the conscience God originally gave you, you would be content instead of hurting as you do.
