Here's a pretty cool morph-montage of Hollywood women, from the beginning of the movies till now. I totally agree with Jonah when he says this montage reveals the diversity of beauty (though I would have liked to have seen more black, Asian and Latino faces in the mix, for the sake of comparison).
For my money, the most beautiful of all the women catalogued here is Ingrid Bergman.

Sophia was in there; easy to miss alot if you blink, plus it looked like a very young Sophia.
Anyone notice the mother and daughter in the mix? (Ingrid & Isabella) Were there any others?
Lots of beauty there, no doubt. I think I'd add Claudia Cardinale...what WAS Charles Bronson's character thinking at the end of 'Once Upon a Time in the West' ??????!!!!!
And I agree with Mary Margaret -- there seems to be more varied character in the older pictures.
The later ones all have the benefit of botox/lip plumpers, which isn't even considered plastic surgery these days, just that-which-must-be-done for every public face. Not that the earlier ones are all virgin faces; did you catch the pre-surgery Marilyn Monroe face? The earlier faces all seem to have better skin, too, but maybe that's just the photography?
Ingrid's lower lip bothers me: she lines the inside of the lip and fills in with lipstick, because it's so disproportionately larger than the top one. Catherine Zeta Jones is absolutely gorgeous, but again, she's post-op. Pre-op, just another OK face. www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/001047.html
This montage actually helped me realize why many men so love Lauren Bacall, who never did anything for me before, even in her classic movies.
The contrast to other stars of her time (and how she basically symbolized and embraced a modern beauty, or sexuality if you prefer) is so striking.
PS -- Meg Ryan was kinda cute before her horrendous plastic surgery (that basically ruined her career, I might add); it's a post-op photo in here.
1. Where's the beefcake video for your female readers?
2. All the simpering and head-tilting made me a bit seasick.
3. One catalogues objects, not humans.
4. I agree that many of these women are gloriously beautiful. This clip is sadly reductive, however. Some of my favorites--Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Ingrid Bergman, Isabella Rossellini, for instance--are beautiful because of the bold individual spirit that indwells them, not just for the pouty lips.
