Awesome Katrina cottages

A New Orleans friend e-mailed to say if he was going to build a house, he'd want to build one of these Lowe's Katrina Cottages. They look pretty great, if you're into the Not-So-Big House vibe, like I am.

So Rod, as a "slow food" guy are you sure you wouldn't want a larger kitchen? One with counters?

This is not a Katrina cottage, but it's the kind of small house I would love to have - and the first example I've seen of hay bale construction in a damp climate.
