Will Tucker Carlson seek the Libertarian Party's nomination for president? Well, that would be fun to watch, but honestly, can you think of a single pundit you'd be willing to vote for for president? I can't. A good national politician needs a skilled pundit's ability to analyze and argue persuasively. But a president is not only a salesman of ideas; he also is a chief executive. What do pundits know about governing, and the compromises that go into actually running a government as opposed to making a brilliant argument, or showing them what for on Chris Matthews? In my view, Pat Buchanan served the conservative cause, and the country, far better as a pundit than as a presidential candidate.
Serious question: which pundit, or pundits, do you think would make a decent president? Why?

Michael Savage. How much worse could he be then Bush, or the other 3 jokers who are running. At least we would secure the boarder
We do not need a pundit in the White House. We need a statesman (or stateswoman) for a change.

Change is going to happen regardless of who is president. The question is what kind of change will it be? I'm not sure I like the change that Obama is advocating, and McCain just likes to change his mind. Clinton is no better than either of the gents.
Mark Steyn, if elligible. He's brilliant, a great writer and speaker, and personally courageous in a middle-aged man sort of way. And he has a fantastic voice; all the ladies would want to lay him at least as much as they want to lay any middle aged man with a beard.
He's not really a pundit in the debased sense of talking head on screen (never seen him there, even once)- but why not call upon Wendell Berry, as Cincinnatus was of old. A philosopher King, like Pericles. One or two terms away from the plow. We'd at least get powerful State of the Union addresses. Much more than we got out of George II.
Victor Davis Hanson? Michael Yon?
