Where's Smeato when you need him?

Honestly, what is it with the British Muslim community? Now some Muslims are cheesed off because of a British police poster that has a photo of a cute puppy on it. Dogs being ritually unclean, and all. Excerpt:

Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards.

'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities.

'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.'

Councillor Asif, who is a member of the Tayside Joint Police Board, said that the force had a diversity adviser and was generally very aware of such issues.

Did the police in this Scottish city say, "You know, you folks happen to live in a country where people love dogs. A photograph of a police puppy won't kill you. You have to have some give and take if you're going to live in Scotland. It ain't Yemen. Get used to it, or Smeato will set about ye."

No, of course not. This was the official reaction:

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: 'Trainee police dog Rebel has proved extremely popular with children and adults since being introduced to the public, aged six weeks old, as Tayside Police's newest canine recruit.

'His incredible world-wide popularity - he has attracted record visitor numbers to our website - led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number.

'We did not seek advice from the force's diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.'

Oh, vomit. I'm sure the Archbishop of Canterbury is only sorry this happened in Scotland, so he couldn't rush out and apologize to the aggrieved Mohammedan whiners.

Honestly, where is the Brit who will tell these special-pleading cultural bullies to shut the hell up? Where does it end? Will it ever end?

Puppies?!

Why is it that you never hear of anything like this from American Muslims, but there's always something like it from British Muslims? Serious question.

And where is the American who will tell its cultural bullies to shut the hell up? Where does it end? Will it ever end?

Shut the hell up, Rod.

Rod:

Don't listen to John. Please keep pointing out examples of Muslim idiocy such as the one made the basis of this post.

It not a dog, its a picture of a dog. Dogs in Western culture are seen as 'Mans best friend' 'brave' 'loyal' just the type of values we would want in a police force. This is PC nonsense and does more harm than good to Muslim communities.

Yep, all the same. An abortion pill, homosexuality, and puppies. Nothing to disagree over with those issues. Nope, not at all.

While we're all shutting the hell up...
