The base loves Palin

Friday August 29, 2008

Categories: Republicans

A fellow conservative who hasn't been excited at all about the GOP race this fall just e-mailed to say:

Dude, I am so freakin' happy with the pick of Palin. My wife called to inform me that we have now contributed to McCain's campaign (and if I don't like it, too damn bad).

This is what I'm hearing over and over from Republicans. Whatever crossover appeal the Palin pick may or may not have, McCain has just energized the base going into his convention -- and, I think, beyond. Next week in St. Paul is going to be a lot different than a lot of us thought it would be.

Did you know that Sarah Palin is a member of Feminists for Life?I'm lovin' it!

This is extremely simple.... And I'm surprised pundits have not raised this question.

The wind in in the Democrats Sails. Regardless of polls, Barrack will mobilize voters who have NEVER voted in November. The Black vote will come out in droves simply because they NOW can believe Barrack will win.

Combined with Bush's feable record this election will be a slam dunk.

the KICKER..... Why would ANY high profile up and comer want to associate themselves with such a Potential Stinker of a loss and thereby tarnish their future. It is LOSE LOSE for Romney or any other FUTURE hopefull.

For Palin it is LOSE the Election but WIN by being thrust onto the National Stage... Palin wins even if Republicans get trounced!

Bottom line.... no good Republican wanted the JOB except a 44 year old mother of 5 Journalist from the bright light school of IDAHO major who mayored a town of 10,000!!

I'm certain she is great and capable....but she could be your President!! Come ON!!!!

McCain's choice of Palin as a running mate is so cynical, transparent, and misogynistic that I can't believe that some women are taken in by it. What he's saying is one woman is just like another, we're interchangeable, just pick the one who's prettier. Come on, Hillary supporters, don't you see that you've been thoroughly insulted and demeaned? Do you really think that Palin is the woman that Hillary is? Do you really share her values and policies? Do YOU believe that women are nothing more than accessories to a man? Shirt and matching socks--check, shined shoes--check, nice tie--check, attractive woman--check. I'm a feminist, but I'm an American first and Republicans have destroyed our country. Please vote for our country. Vote Obama.

I don't know, Ando. Why don't you stick around here for a while and find out instead of making idiotic comments out of the blue.

Thanks, Don, you just answered my question.

? what is Sarah's position on infidelity and divorce?

I find it a bit surprising (and somewhat disturbing) that a woman of her faith and integrity seems to have such admiration and respect for a man who [although admittedly a war-hero] cheated on his first wife, and dated his [now] second wife while still living with his first wife and daughter.

I just watched a profile on John McCain [CNN - McCain Revealed], and learned a few things that I was surprised at, and not very impressed with.

Can we assume that if Sarah continues to support and represent John McCain, that she does not have a problem with this? Is this forgiveable?

If not, and she feels compelled to NOT support McCain, will her exit from the VP ticket impact her political career?

? if she supports him politically but not morally, will she feel like a sell-out?
