Mike Huckabee on Sarah Palin

Tuesday September 2, 2008

Categories: Republicans

Got some up-close video this afternoon of Huck defending Sarah Palin, and laying into the media for what he calls its sexism. Watch the short clip after the jump.

The brief presser followed a panel Huck moderated on the arts. He made a plainspoken but impassioned case for why conservatives should embrace and champion the arts. I was hoping to interview him about the Right and the arts, but he was dogpiled by reporters wanting to know about his own political plans, and Sarah Palin.

Mike Huckabee, Tuesday afternoon (be patient; if it says "video not available," all it means is it's still processing; check back later):

"Why oh Why didn't he pick Huckabee?!"

Because he's a white man. Just wasn't the year to be picking another white guy.

I would like to hear more about his support of the arts as well. Hopefully you get that interview eventually. Maybe he will be part of McCain's administration. I'm sure there are many slots he could fill.

"Why oh Why didn't he pick Huckabee?!"

Because Huckabee is NOT a conservative. Huckabee is a moderate, and many in the party are getting tired of moderates.

True, the scourge of moderatism really is growing so tiresome. Thank God for all the uncompromising extremists that are helping to make our political process the vibrant hot-tub of insightful discourse that it's become.

Anybody who abuses their position of power to try to fire a former
brother in-law and Commissioner simply because of a personal
vendetta and not on the basis of job merits is unethical,
untrustoworthy and unfit to be a heart-beat from the highest
office in the Land.
