A Dallas woman's marriage is on the skids after having an affair with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, she and her cuckolded ex-husband claim. She was executive assistant to the pastor at Friendship West Baptist Church, a prominent black church in...

What does this have to do with anything? Other than a smokescreen to avoid discussing Ms Palin's affairs and Reverend "Democrats are cursed to Hell" Kalins (sp?)

Good point, Casey!

Hey Rod! Who in the hell do you think you are, posting about a topic of your own choice on your own blog?

Didn't you get the word? Get combox mob approval before posting anything.

I couldn't resist.

Casey Roman: "What does this have to do with anything?"

Yes, you are quite clueless, it seems.

Who is Rob?

Well, well.

Pharisees-for-Barack have taken such an interest in family values lately that I for one cannot wait to hear what their blustery and thunderous condemnations will be of that august and eminent theologian and "prophetic voice," the right Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Now perhaps we know why that "spiritual mentor" to would-be presidents seemed so visibly and audibly excited on Youtube at the prospect of Bill Clinton "ridn' dirty" on Monica Lewinsky.

It takes a ballah to know another ballah, it takes a playah to know another playah, after all.

I agree with Lucius, actually, but on the other hand, there has been remarkable quiet around here on "Democrats are cursed to Hell" Kalins. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Wow, Quite a church that Jeremiah runs.

At least she was female and over 18.

That stone at Wright got tossed from a glass mansion.

Rod, Shame on you. The entire issue about Wright is long over. This is simply another attempt to find any sort of unrefined fertilizer to smear over anything with Obama's face on it.

Move along, thre is nothing to see here.

If the Wright's divorce, I wonder who gets the $1.6 Million Dollar Mansion with the $10 Million Dollar line of credit. . . .

If I were a parishioner who had given my hard-earned tithe money in order to put the Wright's in that mansion in that White gated community (with several million bucks to play around with), I think I'd be askin' for my money back. LOL

Let's see. Kalins' sermon was in 2004, more than two years after Palin left Kalins' church for her current one. If she's responsible for what Kalin said two years later, Obama is still on the hook for Wright. Both or neither, folks. (Here's a hint: neither is the right answer.)

OooKaay...

So, the Crunchy Con journalistic standard is that stories examining the sex lives and relationships of 17 year old white women and their national candidate mothers is disgusting evidence of culturally motivated smears, but stories examining the sex lives and relationships of old black men who have pastored national candidates is hunky dory.

I'll be waiting for your condemnation of your old haunt, the NY Post, for their gutter journalism.

Bless,
Doug

To quote a great man, you must be an expert at yoga to have a reach like that. This is a story about adultery involving a nationally prominent religious leader (who, by the way, you've held out as an example to others). He was named as the cause of divorce by both the divorcee and her cuckolded husband. His name has surfaced in an EEOC complaint after his alleged mistress lost her job. This is relevant, not because it reflects on Barack Obama -- it doesn't; like I said, it's his good luck to have broken with that old coot earlier this year -- but because Wright is a prominent public figure, and this is a public matter. It is not even on the same moral plane as the foul (and groundless) speculation about Palin's pregnancy, nor does this incident tell us anything relevant or useful about Barack Obama (cf., the uselessness of Bristol Palin's pregnancy in telling anybody anything relevant about what kind of VP Palin would make).

I'll be waiting for your condemnation of your old haunt, the NY Post, for their gutter journalism.

Mmph! Well, if it starts raining out there, you come on in and dry off.

She was just looking for Mr. Wright. Who can blame her? :-)

She was nookin' for wub in all the Wright places, nookin' for wub in a man with two faces.....

EricW,

Because Pravda ... I mean the Obama Campaign ... I mean *the mainstream media* didn't do their job well enough.

How about we cancel this urinating contest and declare a tie?

Matthew 5:27-30... makes 99.99% of the men, at least, guilty of this one. Why don't we lay down our stones and pray?

Forgiven people, forgive people

Yikes.

This would have been best left unremarked and untouched. The man's despicable and we knew that some time ago. To add that he has a sexual problem as well seems to serve nothing good.

Given the amount of rumor and innuendo which has been thrashing around the last few days, perhaps it would be wise to wait for a lot more verification than he-said, she -said before repeating these things. IJS.

Oh, so this is entirely a matter of the comparative identity of the Palins and Wright as public figures, and some difference between divorce court stories and gossip stories guessing a teen is pregnant. It has nothing to do with double standards towards gender, age, race, or political affiliation. Thanks for clearing that up.

BTW, I've never held Wright out as an "example" of anything more positive than a Faulkernian tragic character, perhaps, but for some reason you seem to be linking me in your mind to all sorts of ideas I don't hold. I have to admit it was odd to see you treating Larison and Frum's comments with such grace after slamming me for posting similar arguments - and in Frum's case, quoting him at length multiple times. But I know it must be a heated time for a professional political journalist, and you're under a lot of stress. At the end of the day, this is recreation for me. For you, it's your job. (Writing about it, I mean; not being politically engaged.)

Forgiveness is better than revenge.

Unbelievable
September 11, 2008 12:11 PM

I'm a regular visitor at TUCC in Chicago, and this is unbelievable, maybe if she was a pretty black lady she may have been believable, but she is not even Pastor Wright's CUP!!! She's a PLANT!!!

OBAMA = BETRAYAL
Obama supporters are foolish to think that he will never betray them.
Obama was a close friend of Pastor Wright for TWENTY YEARS.
Obama threw Wright under the bus for personal ambition.
McCain would not betray his country even after 5 years of torture.
You can put lipstick on a traitor, but he's still a traitor.
