Sarah Palin pregnancy smear debunked

Monday September 1, 2008

Categories: Republicans

I have not blogged about the ugly smear some on the Left have floated regarding Sarah Palin's pregnancy with Trig, because even if it were false, dignifiying it by mentioning it struck me as revolting. I decided last night not to blog on it until and unless it was either proved or debunked. With this post on Daily Kos (where the rumor was initially whipped up), I think we can officially say it's debunked.

What does it say about someone that he or she would spread this kind of toxic garbage, given that it's about a mother and her children, without proof?

Does Sarah have 4 or 5 children. We “the people” need a simple fact check! If you want to know the truth about the Sarah Palin pregnancy HOAX, check out this website which has all the links and facts/lies in one place. Give yourself an education and then you can judge for yourself! These are almost all news articles and some simple mental conclusions.

Hi I am just reading your posting today. Why do you jump to calling it smear when people are curious? I have been a L&D and neonatal ICU nurse for over 20 years and the whole story is frankly...a bit suspect. Think about it, she never looked pregnant or post partum. At her age, she should have. I have been looking at women who delivered babies at all ages for years and she does not fit the bill. Trig looks older than his purported age. I think one possible scenario might be that she wanted to protect her daughter and family. In trying to claim the baby, she created this pregnancy for herself. This is all her own business and I don't think she EVER thought that McCain was going to ask her to join the ticket. I think that this will play out in time. If it is as I describe, it will come out. Too many people know too much for a secret this size to survive

Here are two thoughtful sites that are trying to collect and publish information on the (still open) question of who are the parents of Trig Palin:

No, the rumor was not "whipped up" on Daily Kos -- it was an ongoing rumor that began in Alaska way last winter and has been simmering all this time -- and the official version still does not add up. By saying that it was "whipped up" on Daily Kos, I wonder if the writer of this page is just ignorant, and therefore irresponsible as a pretended journalist, or is actively using a so-called "white-lie" (in his own Puritanist mind)to mislead?
