Spengler needs to listen to Pete Townsend:
Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.
Palin is not a reformer in the sense that she wants to clean things up. She just wants the corruption to move in a different direction.
She's not just a hockey mom, she's a pageant contestant and television journalist. She's not some regular person who sought this position because she cares about the issues. She has been seeking this kind of political career in one of the most common ways ambitious women do. (This or law.)
I love this from the article:
"Hockey Moms," to be sure, may not be the optimal promoters of America's future. One for one, the "Piano Moms" of China are cleverer people and produce smarter offspring. China's 30 million students of classical piano are one of the two great popular movements in the world today: the other is the House Church movement in Chinese Christianity. Children who play hockey will grow up to get coffee for children who study piano.

The anonymous Emperor has no clothes. Why he is taken so seriously in certain circles is a mystery.
Only the USA could produce Paris Hilton's most recent movie "The Hottie and the Nottie". And where else would have promoted Pauly Shore as 'the next comedic genius'? God Bless America.

Spengler's usually astute comments don't seem to hold up to scrutiny this time around. Witness Transparency International's Corruption Index (higher score indicates less corruption):
Singapore 9.2
Hong Kong 8.1
Japan 7.3
United States 7.3
The Unites States, in fact, is lower than almost all OECD countries.
If she is our "secret weapon", it's pointed straight at our own heads.
Here's a sure bet: the next time she's on TV, no doubt you will be watching. You won't be able to help yourselves.
And so goes the world. Hockey is a good way of learning how to smack somebody who deserves it.
