Prayer requests

Monday November 3, 2008

Categories: Varia

I know we're all reaching the climax of the campaign season, and that's where our minds are, but I'd like to ask for your prayers for two urgent concerns:

1. My friend Eric Nelson was one of three people hit by a car yesterday in Dallas as he left a half-marathon he'd just run. Eric's the only one still in the hospital, and he's in bad shape. He's going to make it, thank God, but his legs are badly broken, and he's got all kinds of problems. Please pray for his swift healing, and for the end to his pain.

2. I hadn't mentioned yet in this site that we recently adopted a sweet little terrier puppy who'd been abandoned. Roscoe's a great little dog, but he came down this weekend with parvovirus, owing to a screw-up we made in his vaccination schedule. He very nearly died, and is not out of the woods yet. Still at the vet in ICU. With so much human suffering in the world, I hesitate to ask you to pray for our dog to recover, but he's a very sick little pup, and he needs someone to put in a good word for him.

Incidentally, while I was at the emergency vet clinic with Roscoe yesterday morning, they got a call from a woman who was coming in with her chihuahua. She'd been walking down the street holding the dog in her arms when an unleashed pit bull charged her, leapt up and took hold of her little dog in its jaws.

Adding my prayers for your friend and the new pup. And kudos for going the adoption route. A terrier and chickens - that should be fun!

EricW - of course I'm not saying Rod is wrong, spiritually misguided or anything else you suggested. I was simply stating my belief. I find that thanking God for what I have very spiritually meaningful to me, and helps me focus the strength I need from God - sometimes I forget the gifts He has already given me.

Oh, geez, Rod. That sucks. I hope your friend gets better.

As for the pup, well, my ex- used to work for a vet clinic so I got to hear about that stuff all the time. I hope Roscoe makes it; if so, he will be a lucky dog.

Please remember in the future: your house is contaminated, so any unvaccinated pups will be at terrible risk for some years.

Please pray for Tony Mobley in West Chester OH that he will recover completely from the virus that is leaving him with a 50-50 chance to live. Please pray for my daughter Joy, that she may find joy in her heart and in God, positive direction, become healthy and be blessed with the right man in her life who loves God and loves her. Please pray for my son Eric that he may come back to God and health and bring his son Jalen there as well. And please pray for my husband James for clarity, health, a job and right direction in life. Thank you and may God bless and keep you.
