It seems that former Miss California Carrie Prejean once made a video of herself walking alone up the Appalachian Trail, and it's now public. Excerpt:
"It was me by myself. There was no one else with me. I was not having sex," the controversial beauty queen told TODAY's Meredith Vieira in New York.Prejean admitted to making the video of herself and sending it to her boyfriend when she was 17 years old.
I cannot for the life of me understand why any sane person would make a video, or allow a video to be made, of herself or himself having sex, in any way. Aside from the ick factor, you know it's bound to come out one of these days. It will be interesting to watch how many teenage idiots over the next 20 or 30 years will be humiliated as adults when the Too Much Information stunts they carried out online come back to humiliate them as adults. It will be interesting to correlate that population with the same population of 40 and 50 year olds who really, really regret that youthful tattoo, now that they're all wrinkly and saggy.

Gerard Nadal,
You and Stari Momak remind me of an old segregationist, Judge Leander Perez. He disparaged the "filthy little negroes" for not knowing the "meaning of legitimacy." How can a child not born in wedlock easily understand or respect its meaning? How can he be held accountable for the choices of his parents?
You complain that gay relationships aren't monogamous and yet you demean them at every opportunity. How will relationships between gays ever assume the importance and dignity they should when families and society attack them? How can Christians complain that gay relationships are weak when they exclude us from the military, from employment, from housing, from equal access to insurance, and, in Christian Uganda, from even life itself for trying to form them?
As for Stari Momak's comments about gays not needing government sanction, I must say I'm flattered. Certainly, heterosexuals need sanction from Church and State to avoid having children out of wedlock and inflating the rate of violent and property crime, the rate of abortion, and cheapening the value of life.
Me too. It's a silly argument. Self-respect, self-control and fidelity are not charisms that magically appear with the exchange of vows. They are the very traits to be discerned during courtship/dating, and are the fruits of hard work at character development.
I've always been amused by this kind of argument from the social con crowd.
They deliberately kicked us out of their churches. They systematically denied us access to all of the social institutions that support this very "character development". Wherever possible, they have sought to uproot us from even our closest family members, denying not just their love and support but advice and guidance as well. They intentionally exiled us completely from the community.
And then there is all of this pious shock and surprise when, shorn of religious, social and familial support, people start acting in ways they disapprove of. Talk about your self-fulfilling prophecies!
How do you think heterosexuals act with all of these supports to good behavior removed?
Goodness knows I have a past of my own, and I take full personal responsibility for any consequences that may stem from my personal actions.
But you can't have it both ways: cons complain about how the culture is going to hell in a handbasket because these institutions are being weakened and removed. But suddenly, after you sent us beyond the reach of those very institutions, you blame whatever moral failings we may have on something inherent in homosexuality?
Give me a fricking break.
Good comment, Geoff G. You asked how heterosexuals act when all the supports to good behavior are removed. I would say, look how heterosexuals act, even granted all the supports they take for granted. I've seen a precious few heterosexual marriages where the partners honored and supported each other, raised children in love, and took delight in each other's physical presence. But I've seen so many more where children were born by accident, for selfish reasons, in anger and ambivalence, where the adults' egos came first, and children came second or third. I've seen families where children were considered a burden, an annoyance, the wrong sex, wrong personality, troublesome and expensive, blamed for their parents' inability to deal with life. Don't think for a moment that conservatives and religious people never reject or neglect their kids. I've seen the hetero families who covertly use and abuse their children, sexually or emotionally. And God forbid they grow up and choose a profession, a marriage partner, or a faith that doesn't suit the parents' ego needs.
I've seen so many marriages where hetero sex made one or both partners miserable. I've seen heterosexuals who demanded sexual activities that humiliated a partner, or who denied the legitimate affection that their partner craved. There's only one thing sadder than an angry divorce, and that's a long-term relationship that curdles without ending, that turns vindictive or indifferent and lasts for years. Children suffer from heterosexual divorce. They also suffer from living for years with lies, affairs, coldness and anger, while being loaded up with a demand for phony gratitude, because "at least we stayed together." And yet, with all these faults and tragedies, and in spite of the many ways that heterosexuals waste and spoil the privileges they've been granted, we still let them marry.
Because you don't have to be a saint to earn the right to choose a partner and set out on life together, to do the best you can. All you have to be is human.

The latest on this story is that the boyfriend who leaked the tape says there are approximately 15 or so more of these and that she's definitely not the girl she makes herself out to be. He said he's never seen anyone who lies so much. He also says that she was NOT 17 at the time but 20. So the plot thickens.
