Wow. I love this idea. LOVE IT.

When I was a kid, I spent hours doodling. I drew highly detailed spaceships, space stations, and the cold, rugged landscapes of undiscovered planets (complete with alien outposts). I drew elaborate circus scenes and cityscapes and skyscrapers. I had a very developed imagination and a modicum of artistic skill, but my drawings never turned out exactly as I’d hoped. I was constantly drawing but I was also constantly frustrated.

I so could have used Imaginawesome.

A software engineer (and talented artist) named Garrett Miller started this project with exactly my childhood problem in mind: Kids who have endless creativity but without the artistic chops (or fine motor skills) to fully realize their ideas. So he has kids submit their drawings to him and then he adds his own “awesome dust” to them, helping them realize their vision.

Here’s a “secret fort” designed by a 7 year-old named Archie, with Miller’s re-imagining below it:

Here’s a “volcano fight” by Jacque, age 7:

Reason #143 I love the Internet is that it makes stuff like this possible. So fun.
