Meet Montana's married priest
Earlier this week, I posted an item about Montana getting its first married priest. Now a local TV station has hopped on the bandwagon. Take a look, below.

"Gesu Bambino," anyone? This is one of my favorites, and nobody does it better than these gals: Kathleen Battle and Frederica von Staade. Enjoy.

Ad multos annos, indeed!
What a beautiful piece; I am glad you posted it here as I am very behind in trying to keep up with Currents these days.
It was interesting to hear Fr. Jim talk about his initial effort at a book about the saints and how both he and his idea were transformed. As with all transformation in God, its ultimate work is in the transformation of others. That is clearly happening by the number of people who have read this book!
In my theology class this week we were discussing interior and exterior freedom and I was reminded of that in Father’s remarks about his vocation and what he can and cannot do.
All this from a man who can write so beautifully and powerfully on matters of faith and who can also be on Colbert with such integrity.
Prayers for Fr. Jim Martin!

I hope that Fr. Martin’s “transformation” extends to him vigorously preaching and teaching the Church’s teaching on sexual morality, including homosexuality. It is one are of Church teaching on which he has been notably and noticeably silent. Is it the area of Church teaching which he describes in “My Life with the Saints” as being an area of teaching with which he disagreed and which his superiors asked him to be silent about for now?
