Wherein the medium for evangelizing is an athlete’s face:

Tonight is Tim Tebow’s last home game as a Florida Gator, and he is guiding the Gators to a comfortable 37-10 fourth-quarter lead over rival Florida State. His eye blacks contain the lettering “Heb 12 1-2,” a reference to a Bible passage from the Epistle to the Hebrews. Hebrews 12:1-2 says:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This is far from the first time Tebow has included bible references in his eye black. In a notable example, he drew John 3:16 lettering beneath his eyes during the 2009 BCS championship game.

According to Google, this created a “volcanic” search for the biblical passage in the hours after it was first spotted on national television.
