That’s amazing!
Pope Benedict looked and sounded tired until he greeted the crowds. Or maybe he looks more like himself when he smiles.

Apparently the trip to Santiago was a childhood dream which the pope had to cancel several times…the last was planned for 2005 with his brother, but something else came up…
The Burt Wolf PBS series “Travels and Traditions” does a wonderful piece on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela…here is a bit more of the Botafumeiro…

The pope is doing great for an 84 year old. He was clearly amused by the swinging of the botafumeiro.
